One Month Warning

That’s right, it’s nearly here.  November 30th is the absolute last day you can sign up as a primary or secondary creator. 

Primary Creators (sign up here) are responsible for having a general idea of what they’re doing on December 1st & producing the central work for the event.  They may team up with other PCs to create one cohesive work & get assigned one SC for it, they can work by themselves and get one SC, or they can go it totally alone and receive no SC.

Secondary Creators (sign up here) are responsible for making a fanwork based of the work of the Primary Creator(s).  Feel free to find your dream PC before the event starts, we happily accept groups that are already formed & there’s a section for such in the forms.

As a reminder, the CFBB welcomes all types of fanworks!   

If you join our discord, you can find a partner earlier then our official partnering days (December 2nd-5th) and get working earlier.  Feel free to also team up as PCs to create one work.

heyy so I need some advice on somthing you don’t have to answer but idk so I’ve been talking to this guy on snap and I sent him some spicy pics and he sent me nudes. I’ve told him some stressful secrets about my stepdad and he’s kinda helped me through it but last night he wanted nudes and I wasn’t in the mood so I said no. He got kinda mad and is leaving me on delivered all day. I don’t wanna loose him but idk what do I do? Should I leave him? What abt the secrets he knows?

Hmmmm... Well I do wanna say that giving this person the benefit of the doubt, something else could be going on that you don’t know about. We don’t know for sure and sometimes it’s best not to assume.

On the other hand...

Now that we got that out of the way, deductive reasoning has brought me to the conclusion that you’re dealing with what is termed as “CFBB.”

Classic Fuck Boy Behavior

This happens often when someone is under-developed as a person and quite entitled. When they don’t get what they want, or are told the word “no”, they stomp their feet like a petulant child and lash out. This will either be in an outwardly disrespectful manner or through passive aggression. They will try to punish you for slighting their fragile egos. They won’t respect your boundaries, they objectify you, or they’ll feign genuine interest in your emotions, troubles, dreams, hobbies, etc until they obtain what they want from you. In this case, i’m sorry to say, the goal might be pictures of you in your intimates, your nudes/sex. They’ll be on their best behavior until they receive the prize. Sounds like this person is a bit of a sore loser. Quite immature. And alas, the exact kind of person we’re describing.

Advice?

DO NOT. I repeat, DO NOT let this individual gaslight you. Make you feel as if you did something wrong for standing your ground and setting healthy boundaries. Your body and your pictures are yours to do with as you please. You reserve the right to share it/them with whomever you deem worthy. Your intuition/the universe/your spirit guides were probably sending you some sort of cosmic red flag in regard to this person. The fact that he became upset that you didn’t share what you had every right to guard indicates he may not have as much respect for you as he primarily displayed. Chuck the deuces up to that clown and move on to someone who understands that “NO MEANS NO”. Sometimes when we’re afraid of losing someone it’s because we believe that we won’t get someone better. Love yourself, first. If you gotta be a bitch, so be it. You let someone know once not to fuck with you, most of the time, you never have to do it again. 

As for the secrets he knows, unfortunately you can’t go back in time and un-tell him. But moving forward, you CAN be more selective about who you let into your inner world. Some people just don’t deserve to know you intimately, boo. Let a man EARN you. Make sure they go through a thorough and appropriate screening process before they get let into your circle. Some people can sense a loving spirit or someone who simply wants companionship and when they’re operating on/in dark energy they’ll just suck up all your light and leave you to deal with the mess. Develop discernment so you can avoid any avoidable heartbreak. Quite frankly, this prick owes you an apology. Of course, don’t wait on one because we can’t control others but we CAN control our actions and our emotions. Sounds like he doesn’t deserve another ounce of your time or energy. In regard to the spicy pics you’ve already sent, I don’t know where you’re located geographically, but I can say if he has the audacity to try to use them against you, there are revenge porn laws that protect people from fuck boys with little dick energy trying to retaliate against them. 46 states to be exact.  The punishments include but are not limited to: Class A misdemeanors, thousands of dollars in fines, felonies and significant jail time.

The right person for you will respect your boundaries, they’ll genuinely want to help ease your pain, they’ll be patient with you. They’ll be selfless not selfish. Be patient. Protect your energy at all costs until then. I’m proud of you for not allowing yourself to be pressured. Many can learn from this small but significant act. Remember to know your worth, add tax and interest.

Why call it a Big Bang and not a fest or something similar? One of the defining aspects of a Bang is the collaborative aspect. e.g., you see "mini bangs"/"tiny bangs" with smaller wordcounts, but still preserve that collaborative aspect. I kind of think the name is misleading or confusing, given what "big bang" means in fandom

“This is a great question and I'm glad you're so curious about the inner working of the admins' minds when they came up with this event. First, let's look at "What is a Big Bang?" and "What is a Fest?"—a Big Bang (BB) can be a Fest, and a Fest can also be a BB, but there are certain connotations to both.

Firstly, the CFBB requires a sign-up, which is rather traditional for BBs, but not for Fests. (There are, of course, open BBs which some of the mods have personally participated in and enjoyed. We decided in a closed BB instead, which requires sign-ups for a few reasons that you're welcome to ask questions about if you wish.) Then, a secondary trait of BB is partnering up with another person. Now, if you've looked at our sign-up sheet, you may notice there's an option to go at it alone. This is because the admins recognize that some people may find it awkward to partner up and we saw no reason to exclude them. We are all passionate about our works—why should some people be excluded for working alone?

And now, we move on to posting! Even open and closed BBs have this in common—there are certain dates when the work is released. We're scheduling the release of all fanworks to bolster smaller fandoms, spread out content for larger fandoms, and encourage collaboration between fanartists of all kinds.

A Fest tends to have a common prompt or theme associated with it. The CFBB enforces no set theme. We have a timeline for posting, we have a community of creativity, and leave the themes up to the creators. So come give us your cross-stitching, your capes, and your podfics. The tradition of fanartist and fanwriter pair up comes from the zine format of the traditional BB. Technology has advanced—so why not let the BB follow suit? Now we can show off textiles and sculptures and music, let's do it!”

That’s a really short time frame for any kind of fibre craft works, is there flexibility for posting dates?

Thank you for your interest!  Right now, we plan on having posting of finished products throughout the month March.  But you can start working on this project as soon as you want (giving you from August to March 31st, which is seven months).  If this still isn't enough time for you, we'd be happy to discuss something.

Is there sign ups for artists as well? Because the only sign ups right now are targeted towards authors and I don't see a sign ups opening for artists in the schedule.

The current sign-up is for artists as well, as long as they want to be a primary creator.  If you want to be a secondary creator, we’re waiting until we get a significant amount of primary creators signed up before opening sign-ups for that. 

We’re sorry for any confusion due to the nontraditional set-up for this BB.  If you’re wondering what size category is appropriate to your artwork, “a picture is worth a thousand words” give or take a bit.  Or you can just chose the “Other” category and explain what it is (we’ve had quite a few people do that already, which is very exciting!)
