hmmmm. the thing about writing a fantasy fic from a media with an ensemble cast is that it's hard to decide who does and doesn't get magic, especially if magic is hierarchical. like it's weird to talk about how those without magic get discriminated against... and then not have a fair amount of magicless characters. but at the same time those without magic will participate less in a fantasy story or have roles that fundamentally change their canon relationships. if, for e.g, Airi doesn't have magic, then what would the fantasy equivalent of her relationship to shizuku look like? it's fun to think about, but also kind of a hassle to figure out when my fic is firmly about ruikasa
Me: Hm, what shall I do about Saki's illness in this fantasy setting-
My brain: Mana sickness. Girl has so much magic it makes her ill
Me: Again? I feel like-
My brain: Mana sickness.
I can't stop making shizumafukasa into childhood friends it might as well be a disease at this point
watch me, as I create a series of contrivances which ends with my au world not having a national census, but the lords need a yearly license to collect debts and taxes
The frustrating thing about making shareable playlists for pjsk specifically is that so many classic vocaloid songs are not on spotify. I wanted to add the Synchronicity trilogy to my Cannon Fodder playlist and I could only find covers
