Sitting on the chair while holding your coffee cup, not that you're a fan of it but you just need it because you didn't get any sleep last night and you just need caffeine to make you stay awake. Its 6 am and you still have around 2 hours before you leave to work.
"Oh My God, you scared me." You heard your mother's flustered voice. You turned to her grinning while shaking your head. Of course, she'll be surprised by you. It's very unlikely actually for you to be the first one to wake up.
"Why did you wake up so early?" She questioned as she stepped towards the bathroom. You did not answer since you know she can't hear you so you waited for her to come back but then you suddenly zoned out again that you did not hear her until she started calling your name a few times.
"Yeah?" You ask, head-turning to her.
Her eyebrows knitted together. She then sits next to you. "Are you alright?" She inquired worriedly. You nodded your head but her expression showing you that she's not buying it.
"Mom, actually I..." you paused briefly before you let out a sigh. You don't even know if this is the right time to ask her about this. But... you've been thinking about this all night and you don't even know why.
"What?"
You unconsciously playing with your mug because of your nervousness.
"Y/n..." You blink your eyes a few times before you finally have a strength to ask her.
"Where is... she?" You saw how her facial expression falls and you regret asking her about it. Instantly you hold her hand. "Never mind. You don't have to answer me."
"But you have to know." And after exhaling a long breath and smiling nervously she tells you everything. How your dad and her met, what happens after that that led you to be left with your dad, and that led him to meet herself, your entrust.
Your Dad meets your mother when they are kids, a neighbor but separated since her family moved but met again in University and that when their love started to bloom. Your mother found out she's pregnant and she tried to abort you few times but saved by your Dad every time she tried to do it because contrary to her, he loves you. He loves you so much that he threatened your mother that if he tried to abort you again, he'll tell her parent about it and knowing how strict her parents are,she gives up. Once you were born, she left you. She left you with your Dad until your Dad meet her when you're five.
"I am sorry. I am sorry that Dad left me with you." You're unable to hold back your tears especially when you remember how rude you are to her before this but she still takes care of you.
"Y/n, you're my daughter. Yeah, you came from her. But she loses the privileged being your mother when she neglected you." She says as she cleared out your tears. "And please don't say anything like this anymore. I love you. I love your father and I am so grateful that he entrust you with me because I can't imagine what would happened to myself if you're not with me when he left." She says as she tried to hold back her tear. "Believe it or not but you're the reason that I find my will to live every day. I wanted to give up but you remind me of him so much and that what make me stronger everyday." She seems can't hold back her tear so you hug her tightly.
"Thank you so much for everything Mom." You heard her let out a breathy chortle. You both stay in the position before she breaks the silence.
"But I still doubt that this what made you can't sleep all night." You pull yourself from her.
"It's- it's nothing Mom. Just been thinking and that led one to another."
"Fine. If you don't want to talk to me about it, it's okay. But..." she pauses and grabs your hand. "I think I know what you're thinking all night and one thing I can advise you is you're an adult now so anything bothering you please think rationally, not by following your heart. Yes, your heart will never lie concerning your emotions but your mind can make a better decision with the help of your heart." She says while patting your hand.
You nodded your head in understanding.

"Hey..." you lifted your head and see Jungkook staring down at you. You let out a small smile and tapped the space next to you. Your mother must be the one telling him that you're here. A rooftop is a good place when something is bothering you. Hence, that why you're here now.
"Your mom told me." Of course, she would report that to Jungkook. Jungkook is her most favorite person now. You can imagine if you and Jungkook are together, your Mother will be always on his side but then that just an imagination.
"So.... do you want to visit her or just see her from afar?" He seems unsure of his question. You let out a sigh and rest your head on his shoulder, not responding to his question.
"Are you okay?" He asks.
When he did not hear your answer he open his mouth to ask but you cut him.
"I am fine."
And before he asks you more, you hold his hand tightly. You know he's staring at your intertwined hands. You need this so much right now. Words can't seem to explain your feelings. First with these unsolved feelings of yours to him and now it's because of your mother who left you once you were born and today, you checked to the registrar office just to find out her whereabouts only to be told that she's no longer living. She passed away a year after you were born and you missed a chance of asking her the reason for not only leaving you but also for trying to kill you even before you're born.
"I just want to spend the night quietly." You speak in a low voice. You felt him tightening his grasp on you, indicating that he understood your wish.

You look at the mirror while fixing your hair for the last time today. Jungkook said he wanted you to come, hmm not come because he said that there's this party happening tonight and he wants you to attend it (your presence is obligatory by the way) because you've been missing his celebration lately so yeah, you agreed to it plus he said that it is important for you to attend it.
You push on the elevator button and press the twelfth-floor button where the rooftop garden placed. But the elevator stops on the third floor and two employees greeted you before they ride the elevator with you. That when you heard about it. About how there will be a proposal happening on the twelfth floor later and the protagonist is none other than the famous slash hot idol (quoted from the two employees) Mr. Jeon Jungkook.
You felt your stomach fall listening to their chatter about how beautiful the decor is that it filled with the antagonist favorite flower.
You understand that Jungkook and you are best friends again and you know to him your appearance is necessary for this kind of event because he wanted you to be part of his day. But then you just can't. You're just not ready yet. Yes, all this time you're just being selfless, burying your feelings for the sake of your friendship but the truth is, you love him, still and will forever will.
So once you landed on the twelfth floor, you pressed on the ground floor button. No, you're not going to attend this. With or without your presence, the proposal will still be going.

You drove off from the area once you hit up sent. What you did not expect is when he calls you the moment he read the text asking whether you can just leave your work and come but you keep saying that you could not make it since the document was important and required ASAP. He begged you to come but again you keep on telling him that you can't. He finally gives up and lets out a long breath before saying goodbye to you.
You drove home once you hang up the calls. You feel your head was about to burst with the information you heard on the elevator plus with the stressful work you're doing today at the office.
When you reached your door, your Mom was shocked as she sees you coming back early.
"Wha- I mean why are you here?" She asks you.
"I am not feeling well Mom. I felt my head is about to burst." You answered as you took off your stiletto and headed to your room straightly. You changed into your PJ before you plopped down on your bed. A few minutes after, your Mother came in with water and med and you gulp it down quickly.
You lay down on your back after that. You Mother then placed her hand on your forehead. "Normal." She muttered to her herself.
You let out a breathy chuckle. "Mom, I am just having a headache. I am not sick."
"I am just worried as you might catch a cold plus Jungkook called me just now."
Ow. And you thought you said that in your mind.
"Ow? You lied to him Y/n. Are you okay with him? Did you get to meet him at the party?"
"Maybe okay and no."
She shook her head when she hears your response. She then tucks up your comforter before leaving a kiss on your forehead bringing back the glasses for your water earlier.
Do you know what the best alarm is? When you woke up every day even before the alarm rang. Just like today, you woke up without an alarm which is kind of impossible during college but now your eyes automatically open when it's 7 am. You thought you're still dreaming. Because when you turn to your left side, you saw him lie down next to you. What a wonderful dream and the person laying next to you is so beautiful. You lifted your hand to caresses his cheek. That when you see his eyelids slowly opened. Wait this is not a dream! So you got up abruptly and you felt your head hurt due to your sudden action.
"You're okay?" He asks before he got up as he sees your hand touches your forehead.
"Hmm." You exhale a breath and tried to calm down before you ask him about his event last night.
"So how was last night?"
He shrugged his shoulder.
"What is that suppose to mean?"
"I don't know. Why don't you come last night?" He responded quickly.
"I told you I have work Kookie."
He sneered at your reply. "But your Mom called me telling me otherwise."
"Fine! I felt my head was about to burst if I stayed so I went home instead."
"Really?" He asks with a hint of doubt in his voice.
"Yeah." You say boldly.
He then removed the comforter from his body before he got up from the bed and you got up too but sitting on the bed, back against the headrest. “It was supposed to be a good night. The happiest night of my life but then you’re not there. You did not come and everything becomes history.” He says as he opens your curtain to let the sun in.
“As long as you’re happy Jungkook. My presence is not important.”
“It is. Because it is for you. I did everything for you.” You knitted your eyebrows in confusion.
“Wh... what do you mean by that?”
Letting out a sigh he stand in front of you. “I thought I can be happy but I was wrong again. I just thought that...” he stops briefly before he moves his eyes to meet yours while standing in front of you. He then walks towards your desk, where he put his belonging. “This was supposed to be on your finger today but you decided to give up when you’re already there.” He says as he gives you a white small square box.
You blink your eyes a few times, confused by his words. “You still don’t get it Noona." He said as he sees you freeze in your position and took the box back from your hand. "You! I want you! I was supposed to go on one knee last night to propose you but you decided to absent on the supposed to be a good night for us.”
You feel your mouth falls to his confession and now everything makes sense. No wonder your mother is confused when she saw you last night. Jungkook did tell her about it.
“I thought...”
“It's always your thought all this time Noona. You thought that it’s good to finally admit your feeling when you know I am with her. You thought it’s good leaving me on bluetick last week when we’re supposed to have dinner at my apartment!”
“But I saw her! I went away because I saw her and I don’t want to disturb you.”
“Again with your assumption! You need to start hearing others before making any conclusion Noona. That’s not healthy for a relationship.”
You looks over to him. Jungkook is right. You need to start listening before you jump to the conclusion. It’s not good for a relationship. Wait... relationship?
You realized his words a little too late because you now see him, on his one knee with a big smile while holding a ring with his eyes locking with yours. “I am not going to waste any more time. I am just going to ask you once. Will you be mine?”
Nodding your head, he slips on the ring to your finger and you pull him to you, him nestlings his head to your neck.
“I love you, baby.” He says as he pulls himself from you.
“I love you more.” You say, eyes observing you while he looks at you but his eyes move from yours to your lips.
"Can I kiss you? Because damn you don't know how long I've been..." And before he could finish, you attack his lips and although he's shocked with it he reciprocates your kiss when you feel his tongue touching your lips asking for permission to deepen the kiss and you happily abide by it.
It feels unreal that all this happened because of the Couple Game you’ve agreed before. All that fighting, times spent away from each other did not sway your nor his feelings to each other. It only strengthens your feelings to each other and now, you can happily say that you’ve found your happiness with your best friend.
Fun fact: I saw my cousin posted a WhatsApp story stated 'let play a game where we can call each other 'baby' etc and see who fall in love first' and that where I got the inspiration to write Couple Game. I hope everyone is enjoying the final product of this and I am so sorry with the constant delay. I hope this worth all your waiting (if anyone is actually waiting for this).

I’ll be posting the epilogue of this soon! And this is actually ‘the rewrite’ version because I posted part 15 few days ago but I am not happy with it so here is the final product.
