taking care of your caregiver

I see so many lovely posts for caregivers on how to show love to their little, and they deserve it too! they do so much and take such good care of us!

🐻 good morning and good night texts every day

🌼 pick a flower for them

🐻 buy them that little thing you know they'll love! and you used your pocket money on them, that's so sweet!

🌼 bring them pretty rocks or interesting little things you find

🐻 you can paint something on the rock for them!

🌼 give them a coloured in page

🐻 or draw something specially for them from you. remember to write your name on it!

🌼 give them all the cuddles after a long day

🐻 listen to them as much as they listen to you!

🌼 help in the kitchen or tidying up. maybe you can make snacks for them!

🐻 ask for their help choosing an outfit

🌼 give them nose and forehead kisses too! make them crouch down if they have to

🐻 when you go to the shop, sneak in their favourite treat too

🌼 ask how their day has been before going to bed

🐻 think of cute new names for them and see if they like them too. you can get inspiration from an animal they remind you off, for example

🌼 suggest activities you can do together, like walks in the park or playing videogames

🐻 suggest movies or shows you know you both enjoy

🌼 offer to call them to tell them how much you miss them

🐻 surprise them with an adventure! for example, tell them you're going to explore that path you haven't gone down yet while their putting their shoes on to go to the park

🌼 make them a super cozy pillow fort, nest or bunny burrow you can cuddle, paint or watch a film in

🐻 show them all the things you like! and see how excited they get too, it's so sweet

🌼 talk about what they liked to do when they were little so you can do it together!

🦋Keeping your little in little space🦋

Make sure your little one WANTS to be in little space, don’t make them feel like they’re being forced into little space!!!

Not sure if this applies to everyone- but my little one finds it comforting and finds it easy to slip when I call myself “mommy/daddy”

Cradling you’re little one is a good one! I like to sit criss cross apple sauce and put my munchkin in my lap and put their head on my chest and secure them in my arms 🥰 adding some rocking and playing with their hair is a bonus! And some good forehead kisses

Similar to cradling, you can cuddle your little and have them suck on their paci or your finger! Give them their favorite stuffie to hold!

Giving them their favorite snacks and drinks in little dishes. 🍼 Their little space bowls and sippies- it’ll help if you’re the one feeding them! “Let daddy help you!” Don’t forget to wipe their face when they’re all done! We don’t want a messy baby

Call them by their little names! My baby’s little name is “bubbles”- or you can use other names like “little one” “munchkin” “sweetie” “pumpkin” “baby boy/girl” “princess/prince” etc.

Doing things for them that they’d normally do on their own out of little space- such as opening things or reaching high places, brushing their teeth or hair. Saying that you’ll help because they’re “too little”

Asking them questions you’d ask a child. “What color is this, baby?” “How many pokadots are on this tissue box?” “What sound does a cat make?”

Let them hold your hand, more so, your finger. Holding one or two of your fingers instead of your whole hand makes them feel like your hand is much bigger than theirs!

Talk to your little in a baby voice! It’ll make your baby feel more comfortable being little around you!

Liking childlike things doesn’t make you any less of a “real” adult/teenager. You don’t always have to be serious to be considered your age and using regression as a way to destress or cope is okay! You are perfect and precious the way you are. 💕
