Some thoughts while re-reading SnK (Ch 4-6)

Poor, naive babies, you have no idea what you're getting yourself into.

I just realised: Armin's hair is shorter than in the anime.

Why is a book about the outside world forbidden though? If that doesn't sound suspicious...

How did Eren get all the way to get Armin out of that titan's mouth before Armin got swallowed though - with only one leg?

Chapter 5:

The defense in the anime is better than the defense in the manga.

Eren is so fucked up, I don't even know where that came from.

Someone save Eren and Mikasa from themselves. They have some really unhealthy tendencies.

Some people just like the way that people of their own gender feel, the way they’re put together.” Mike wants to stop him there, because wow. “Others feel they identify with them more. Some are experimenting, some get emotionally attached. More often that not it’s the same reason that a boy and a girl do it. They think the other person is attractive, and they like them on an intellectual level as well.” Mike nods, burning face cupped in his hands, because well, that makes its own kind of sense, even if it’s hard to wrap his head around it. “You never met people like that before?” He shakes his head this time, and for some reason thinks about something one of those boys had said. Something about “reprogramming” or “reconditioning”. Maybe there was a reason for that ignorance. “I think Kane… I think Kane might have gotten rid of that kind of stuff, like, I’ve never even heard of… that, before today.” When Mike uncovers his face, Jacob is looking away and chewing his cheek angrily. Mike thinks he hears something dangerously close to “Well fuck you Kane” under the old man’s breath before Jacob sighs, looking at Mike again with that open expression. “Yeah, it’s a thing that happens Mike, not as often as you probably think, but in my day everyone was aware that it existed at least. Younger generation liked to experiment with just about everything, if you know what I mean?” And lord, let that not think what he thought it meant. He’ll never look at Jacob the same way again. “I’m surprised you haven’t seen anything till now. It’s not as common as it was in my day, when we had words for it, but it happens now and again. Those nice ladies that stop in once a month to buy my tomatoes are of that kind.” Miss Pleasly and Miss Rochet? Oh lord. “Words for it? You mean like…?” “I’m not saying anything about that kid. Back then there were people who got offended by it, for some reason or another, and those words turned to insults. So let’s just keep those under wraps.” Mike nods. “You offended kid? You normally let stuff like this slide off your back…” And Jacob has this piercing gaze. Why would even be offended though? What reason would he have to? “No! It’s just that… that- Gosh I don’t know.” And now he’s cupping his burning face all over again.
