...I promise I’m not going to go on about this every time it comes up but Rebecca deserved so much better, especially because our first introduction to her is her wanting to defeat Doflamingo by her own hand and then a big part of her story is how other characters that we’re supposed to root for go out of their way to make sure she never even gets the chance.

Cavendish is like, cracking me up just with his entire existence and demeanor.

He speaks in a very, non-aggressive/masculine way, compared to most other male One Piece characters- using ぼく/boku as his personal pronoun as opposed to おれ/ore. He also appears to use the familiar キミ/kimi as his standard ‘you’ pronoun, which combined with his whole demeanor gives a kind of condescending/overly familiar air.

I think the only other character who uses kimi for everyone is Rayleigh, but Rayleigh can pull it off because he’s actually correct when talking as though he’s the strongest person in the room and everyone else is little kids to him. Meanwhile it just makes Cavendish seem kinda like an overconfident dumbass.

Also by this point Cabbage has the entire rose in his mouth. Amazing.

I love that we get exactly one (1) panel of Cabbage actually looking pretty and showing that Oda can in fact design a character that perfectly plays into the bishounen archetype and then this happens and ruins the illusion instantly.
