This sequence is so good; I love that they all just jump into action to protect Robin, and it’s even more noteworthy that all of their top fighters are elsewhere but none of them hesitate to throw themselves at this literal monster to make sure Robin stays safe.

So some people were saying that it was out of character for Sanji to not immediately go to check on Stussy but this is much more in line with the Sanji-of-old that’s been sorely missed lately in that he’s being proactive and thinking strategically instead of reacting emotionally to something that’s already happened and he can’t change now.

But what I find the most interesting is that Sanji has seemingly already decided that Kaku had no idea what was happening (and Kaku’s reaction confirms it) but even with that and the fact that Kaku’s…not really a threat at the moment, he still picked the safest option for all of them and he doesn’t seem angry or like he’s blaming Kaku for any of it; he’s just getting confirmation for something he was already pretty sure about.

Also like…someone give Kaku his damn tea and a blanket or something. He’s been through so much this arc and has literally done nothing. Man needs a break.

There are many good things happening here but I’m particularly fond of the multiple Chopper-pawns.

I love how proud he is of Luffy, though, and this adds more evidence to Jinbe saying way back in Impel Down how well he felt like he knew Luffy because Ace would never shut up about him.

Sanji doing this in base form and with apparently just a normal kick is pretty impressive, especially considering from the drawn impact he also deflected the sword in the same motion.

So Drake being literally part of Kizaru’s personal guard force here makes it even funnier that Kizaru just blitzed him on Sabaody with no hesitation. He definitely knew that Drake was working undercover and he was not going to pull any punches despite that!!
