Countryhumans world building lore bc bored (tiering addition):

Countryhumans are like minor demi gods, and organizations like UN, EU & NATO for examples are full fledged demi-gods, so they're basically more powerful than the countries and as a result present themselves slightly more god-like (mostly just multiple wings for organizations but UN does have their own halo bc theyre special like that!!) And then the gods that are stronger than the countries and organizations (aka full gods) are all the religious gods & goddesses and mother nature herself. And like, sometimes mother nature comes to country meetings just to mess with them lol. Like, imagine your a country, in a UN meeting, everyone's arguing, and then suddenly THE PERSONIFICATION OF THE EARTH HERSELF shows up. Like, what do you even do then???? A god more powerful than all of you is currently here for funsies WHAT DO YOU EVEN DO WITH THAT???? Lol sorry this was too much yapping

My CH have always been perceived as walking gods, seeing as they’re immortal and often times sprout out of the ground, but they don’t have anything like weather powers and are more like glorified celebrities at this point. Monarchies used to be made by the union between a CH and a human, basically giving the resulting child divine right to rule!

I don’t have any actual gods in this particular AU, though I do heavily imply the earth is sentient in some way 😭

A nation will become something called a Lucidity if their territory/officiality is undefined (IN MY AU), for example:

During the colonisation of north america, Native America was a personification, however, the nature of the europeans invading a foreign entity and setting up a territory created Lucidities, these lucidities came into form when the invaders set up colonies, which defined the land they stole and the Lucidities ended up there. In these scenarios the Lucidity was generated by the invasion, causing both sides to surrender a bit of matter to create the Lucidity, this does not harm anyone.

If a country is close to dissolving they will start to collapse into a Lucidity appearing in sparks of their full form randomly and suddenly (during events that lead to death or revival) which is called a "Sparking transition" or they will stay present with the price of their physical form being unstable, melting and becoming see through, randomly unable to interact with things, which is called "Melting transition".

Neither of these transition guarrantee the country will survive or not. It is based on the will of their people to survive.

If a country is killing a part of their population, a Lucidity will generate to represent these people (since in my AU a country is the people) it is impossible to fully commit genocide, because those people will always be there no matter how hard they try. The lucidity will remain seperate mass from the country intill it gives up on its genocide or collapses. Doing this will cause physical stress to the personification (which wont mean the personification doesn't agree with the genocide, just a little punishment)

Anyways, that a little bit of lore for my AU! Since I wanted to make things fluid when it comes to a country dissolving. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask!

I'm guessing throughout his life, America has interacted with or had relationships (friend kind, ik it's dumb to specify but I've had people misinterprete it as dating) with various presidents and political figures

If so does he have anything from those people, like does he have a letter from Washington or Lincoln

He’s interacted with every president at least once because he’s required to be there at inauguration to hand off the figurative torch of leadership. He’s also got memorabilia from each of them because it’s become a sort of tradition to give America something when you’re inaugurated.

His favorite was one of Teddy Roosevelt’s hats; he keeps that displayed in his living room. His least favorite is a gold bar with Trump’s face stamped on it. He uses it as a paperweight but the face has been scratched off pretty much as soon as he got it. He’s pretty sure Trump put literally no thought into it and probably didn’t intend to give him something (because he didn’t on his second term) to begin with, but was told he’d look REALLY BAD if he didn’t.

Trump’s the president America’s been around the least. Only when absolutely necessary. He fuckin hates that guy

Is there any process with a Countryhuman when the country they represent changes their flag or do they just randomly wake up one day and their face has changed?

Their skin gets pretty itchy before the change, but otherwise they just sort of wake up with a flag change. It can be really jarring, especially if it’s a big change

Early early Countryhumans had to of looked fucking gnarly since their skin color is theirflag and I don't think many early cities really had flags until Ancient Egypt

Cities started around 4,500 bce and ancient Egypt was the first civilization to create their own flag around 3,000 bce

Also I'm just imagining the sheer confusing and panic that would settle upon the humans when meeting the very first Countryhuman

My idea is early Countryhumans' skin likely took on the appearance of whatever symbol most represented a civilization, before flags became a thing. So, generally, a pure white base with said symbol slapped in the middle of their face. Which, most likely, was the symbol of that society's most prominent god. The base colors could change, of course. All depends.

They would have found the very first Countryhuman as a baby. And humans in general will care for an infant of any species, but the CH definitely had the cute factor turned all the way up because seeing a creature that's almost human, but not quite, would certainly cause a stir.

Of course, if there was a symbol of a god for that CH to take on, it may have been easier and they would have immediately been seen as a demigod at the least, if not straight up that god incarnate.

I'm also talking out of my ass so I'm not sure how accurate my idea of "god symbols" in early civilization is lmao. There would definitely be a lot of confusion and panic, though.

I like to think that USSR and USA were on good terms. Because remember, both of them hated who they were under. Both of them abolished monarchies in their countries, and both of them originally started a revolution for equality.

I like to think that they would speak in Mandrin with each other during meetings, making fun of each other's governments. Joking about various things.

Think of it like an inside joke you have with your best friend. Remember, Alaska is (Technically) related to Soviet.

I don’t think they were very good friends, honestly. My Soviet specifically was a lot more uptight than America (particularly after his wife died), and he felt America didn’t take anything seriously. They got along during WWII and such, of course. America was also a big inspiration to Sov in his early years. But Britain pushed America into the Cold War, and after that America and Soviet’s relationship soured a lot.

Soviet liked Stalin and Lenin, mostly. They brought a lot of innovation and industry to Russia (who was his favorite child), after all.

America also liked the majority of his presidents during the Cold War. JFK in particular. He still looks back on the Space Race fondly. He didn’t take the Cold War quite as seriously as Soviet did.

America was decently cordial with Soviet during all of it (not to mention the guy was actively flirting with his son), but Soviet HATED America’s guts.

It’s actually the whole reason I have the Soviet America AU to begin with lmao (shortened to Sovime, it’s NOT a ship name). Soviet hated him SO much in that AU that when he was about to die, he went fucking nuclear and took over America. Just a fun “what if America lost” scenario haha

General Headcannon that all personifications have to overdose to get the effect of what they are taking. Normal people usually take 2 Motrin to get the pain relief. Personifications, it depends.

Vatican, San Marino, and other microstates don't have to overdose.

However, countries like China, Russia, US, Brazil.....they have to take 5 or 6 twice a day.

CH are very poison resistant, yeah! Size is of course a big factor regardless, but it's very hard to kill a CH via poison or overdose. The only reason the Russian Empire was able to kill Soviet's wife (Mother Russia) via poison was because she was already deathly ill with the Spanish Flu.

You'd have to pour at least a whole bottle of cyanide into an average Country's food to kill them, but they'd find out they'd been poisoned within the first bite because poison is generally really bitter (or really almond-y), and would feel next to no ill effects.

Getting them down for anesthesia is a fucking nightmare lmao

Will he inherit both russia and america's territories or just one?

It depends on if one or both of them fall. Divine right is still a HUGE thing in CH culture specifically. You aren’t essentially gods on earth for nothing!

Though, considering America is getting sick more frequently, and Diomede sprouted in American territory, it’s looking to be that CH babies being an omen of death may still ring true
