Devin had his face pressed up against the glass of a large bay window in the common room, watching avidly as turbulent rain and wind pounded the landscape outside. A large crack of lightning illuminated the dimly lit room, startling a gasp out of the strawberry blonde. He dragged his awe filled gaze from the window to the person seated a little ways away. “Did you see that? It was so bright!” he couldn’t control the giddy edge to his voice, grin nearly splitting his face. “I’ve never seen a storm before!” He’d heard them from a distance in Heaven, but it was all but impossible to see anything on Earth from Heaven. The thunder that roared a few seconds later echoed in his chest, it seemed. Devin thought he hadn’t ever heard anything so beautiful in his life.
