Heyaaaa, sorry if I ask too many questions, but I thought this might be a interesting one:
What is your opinion on darlings who have darker/toxic dynamics with their (fictional) chéries? Like I emphasize the fictional part because IRL it would be a straight dangerous thing but the fictional realm is another thing.
Like I mean a darlingist relationship who ticks all other boxes except it has some darker tropes involved. It's not my personal case but I was curious still.

I support any darlingist that makes dark content of their chéri 10000%, regardless of reason how they do it as long as they follow the general rules of being a darlingist.
Fiction is fiction, and my personal stuff with Hugo has many dark themes and elements.
Because I believe horror is a beautiful art form and heavy subjects are a great way of :
Conveying exaggerated visual of a dynamic,
A way to convey a bigger message, for fetish/ kink purposes alone,
For comfort / coping mechanism
For any reason at all. Especially if it’s just for fun !
It ultimately doesn’t matter why someone would want to write dark stories about themselves and their lover. A persons chéri doesn’t have to be fictional for this to be ethical either, for example, of a darlingist’s chéri is a real (adult) person who consents to being written about in a dark way, that’s perfectly fine.
It isn’t our place to pry or judge or to make any sort of assumptions. It’s okay to ask a person why, but we don’t have a right to that information / we don’t need a “why”, if that makes sense.
As darlingist, we are supposed to be supportive & kind to each other, apart of respecting each other is not judging others for how they love and how they wish to convey their love.
A darlingist and their chéri’s love is a real two sided love. So consent & genuine understanding is above all else. And if both parties are genuinely/ would genuinely be fine with it. Then it’s fine.
I personally have shotacon, dubcon, incestious, forced marriage, torture, (you get the idea) themes in my AUs, stories, etc of my dearest Hugo. I personally view these stories as separate to him in a way.
My stories about him are just stories I make for fun. -> How I view my self insert & myself is the same as how I view my stories Hugo & the “real” Hugo that I’m dating.
