The cover for ch127 looks like Soma’s “flowers of friendship” falling apart….
Even more reason to suspect that it’s some earl look-alike (like real Ciel/Lord Sirius). We need a translation of what Soma says to the gunman right after getting shot in the hand. I expect an “Et tu, Brute?” sort of thing, like “I thought you were my friend, Ciel”….

@cadaverwriter It makes perfect sense for the queen's watchdog to have more than one firearm, I agree. And yes, you are quite correct that the revolver the earl uses in ch14 is most definitely *not* like the Nagant-type one used by the shooter in ch126. Good observation. :) This one held to Sebastian's head looks more like a single-action (or even a double-action) revolver commonly used in the 1880's, like an old Colt (or, in the case of it being double-action, either Colt or Smith and Wesson). Since the earl's hand is poised on not just the trigger but *also* the hammer (and because the earl would be likely to *just* use the trigger if it were a double-action revolver) I'm going to hazard a guess that this is single-action revolver. (http://gundigest.com/reviews/double-action-vs-single-action-revolvers-which-one-is-right-for-you) So, like the pocket pistol used in ch82 *might* be, this ch14 revolver could *also* very well be a Colt. And, as I mentioned before, Bard likes to use firearms imported from the US (both Colt and Smith and Wesson are US brands). He might have influenced the earl's selection of guns, too (assuming these were acquired after the earl's return to the manor after the fire... and not somehow left behind by Vincent).
If the assailant really is the real Ciel.. Then he must've been seeing Soma and Agni as intruders to his house. Maybe they somehow triggered the memory of the time when he was kidnapped. And that's why he pulled the trigger without thinking twice. Because this time he atleast had a chance to win the fight against the intruders. I imagine him having serious trust issues much more so than our Ciel.
He would see anyone at the townhouse as an intruder right now, with the possible exception of Tanaka…. However, Tanaka must be at the manor right now.
Trust issues, for sure. Like the earl says he can trust Sebastian the least, real Ciel would probably trust the earl the least right now, tbh….
@cadaverwriter BTW, ch13 shows us that the earl was packing heat when they confronted Madam Red and Grell. This concealed gun is probably the same one he brings with him later to Weston... some sort of semi-automatic pocket pistol, like the little old Colt I showed in my "wrong carriage, wrong gun" post. I figure the revolver from ch14 usually stays at home, under his pillow or something. And the smaller pistol goes with him, since it's probably more convenient (easier to conceal, etc.).
