Ok idk how to make people believe in these words but Touya was an expressive kid, perhaps too emotional and him lashing out at his siblings and mom was a way of showing his disappointment. And when you're 13 you say all kinds of things, we even have memes for that.

However, his behavior could be managed. But Endeavor never talked to him after the problems with his Quirk and I guess that Rei should have been more strict with him. If Rei showed some authority Touya would calm down and apologize. Idk if Rei was afraid of Touya using his flames on her bc of her cold constitution and I guess that she'd end up pretty badly if Touya did raise his hand on her but even if that's the case, she'd be able to cool down his temperature before he even gets to use his fire.

Ofc, Rei isn't obligated to show who's the older and more experienced one, she's his parent and he's supposed to listen to her. If Touya only listened to Endeavor she'd talk to Endeavor and tell him to put some sense into him.

But we also shouldn't forget that Endeavor was the one who told him these awful things which he's constantly repeating and hurting people close to him. Sure, Endeavor tried to tell him to stop but when the kid can't even listen to his own "idol", then they should've taken him to a specialist.

Since it's "very shameful" to afford your kid professional help bc people would find out and assume that Todorokis aren't able of properly raise their kid, they thought that keeping it a secret would solve their problems and that, perhaps, they'd get rid of some issues by talking to their son but this never happened. Endeavor avoided him and Rei mocked him for that, Rei wanted to talk to Touya but he wouldn't even listen, Natsuo doesn't have to be Touya's psychologist to listen to his every problem since he's just a kid and he wouldn't listen to Fuyumi bc she always pointed at his scars instead of praising his work.

Endeavor's pride was more important than the well-being of his own son. He ran away from problems and he let everyone down.

That's why fans aren't allowed to call Dabi slurs or whatever. This kid needed help.

Dabi and Endeaver = Frankenstein and his Monster?

ok some disclaimers first: idk how obvious this was for others and I don’t know if anyone did an analysis on this before I have but these are just some observations I had directly after reading chapter 302 so...yeah.

Reasoning:

Stories are similar: endeavor “creates” dabi in order to achieve his goals of surpassing all might but that ultimately fails bc dabi does not have the correct body to withstand the flames he creates so he is the ‘failed creation’ so to speak; Frankenstein creates the monster yet considers it a failure bc the monster is, well, monstrous

Dabi has the same patchwork features that resemble the pop culture version of Frankenstein’s Monster.

Dabi feels that as a failed creation who was neglected that his only option is to turn to evil - much in the same way as the Monster whose “father”/“creator” runs away from him and then the monster becomes evil

Rei was taken from a poor family to eventually be Endeavors wife for her power’s potential when inherited by their children much in the same way Elizabeth was taken in from poverty to be Frankenstein’s wife for her beauty.

Diction: lots of emphasis on the words “creation” and “failure”
