I like this whole scene with Lucci and the CP9 gang, it really humanizes them in a way that we don’t see a lot of throughout the arc. Yeah they’re a bunch of murderous psychopaths, but they’re also coworkers who hang out sometimes in each other’s rooms when they’re off duty. Similar scenes with the Baroque Works agents and Enel’s priests had those groups at each other’s throats, but not here. It makes their willingness to help one another out during their cover story arc make a lot more believable.

Also, birds can get drunk, so likely as not Hattori went through the whole Enies Lobby fight absolutely hammered

Having people simply explode if they eat more than one devil fruit is such an elegant solution to keeping to the “one power, one person” rule, and I love that Oda establishes the limitation this early (if 400 chapters into the series can be called early) so that the big Blackbeard twist hits all the harder once Marineford comes around
