Here we go again || Charlie and Milo
Long year in New York City was finally over and blonde girl was packing last of her bags to her car, preparing for the long drive home. Charlotte Jane was happy to have company as her friend Jesse was tagging along with her at least for some part of the road.
Jesse was first person Charlie met in their apartment building and the only one on her floor who just like her art student. Compared to her dark haired boy was student at TISCH with dreams of being a Broadway Star as she was student at Julliard School, Collaborative Piano Major. He prefered to sing and hover the stage as she felt the best by the piano where she was in her own music world.
Charlie and Jesse made unlike couple, well at least people always told them that. It was funny thing because they weren’t even close to be a couple. They were friends, best friends who shared love for music anc understand each other without words. For young piano player it was knew to hit with someone immediately so that relationshipwas even more important to her. Their mutual friends said they looked and acted like a couple but they never saw it or agreed with it.
Charlie’s heart belonged to the boy in her city, to the boy she broke up with because she didn’t want to tie him to her. Breaking up with him was the hardest thing she ever did in her whole life. Even if they stayed in touch, their contact wasn’t what she wanted it to be. Charlie missed him deeply, she missed everything about him, his touch, voice, smile and teasing. She sight at the memory of the boy she still loved dearly putting last bag in the car. ❝ Ready to go? ❞ She asked Jessed as he also put last of his bag in the back seat. The boy noded and within minutes they were on the road leaving NYC behind their backs.
Charlie and Jesse sang to every song they heard in the radio and after two hours they started to talk about more important subjects. He was asking her about him and she told him everything. From the moment they met in her first year in high school in new city, how they became couple, how people teased them, how they fight but mostly important how they were always together. She shared their happy memories with her friend but also the saddest one, how they learnt his dad was sick again, how their plan changed and how she broke his heart also breaking her own in process.
She talked and Jesse listened. He was smiling at her as he knew what she felt and in the end he knew. He told her his story of fallen love, how he met her, how they became golden couple, how they broke u por how he broke up with her. The different was between his ex and her ex was Charlie’s boyfriend didn’t hate her at least not this openly as Jesse’s ex.
When they reached Akron, Ohio Jesse left her offering her bed in his home. She agreed and they spent most of the night talking about their pasts, hopes for future and promising to stay in the touch during the summer. Early in the morning Charlie moved in further.
Most of her drive she was thinking about all the advices Jesse gave her, remembering his words that love was more important than anything else, long distant or not if they meant to be they would be together. Sos he made a promise to herself that she would talk with her ex about them wishing he would take her again, giving them another shot.
During her almost 20 hours road she made two breaks for 3 hours each, napping in the car, dreaming about him. After last nap she continued her trip with lighter heart and bigger smile. She was already in texas, passing the sign saying it was only 100 miles to Austin, to her home, her family, friends and him. Charlie was singing again with the radio when some other car from across the street drove into her car.
Blonde girl remembered her own scream, how her head hit the stearing wheel. During this short moment she was wondering why air bag wasn’t working. She knew well enough she was bleeding, her eyes were open and she felt dark fluid pouring from her head. Her body was motionless as she tried to move her hands. Charlie didn’t know how long she stayed in the car before someone pulled her outside. When she was put on the stretcher, rescuer asked her questions about her name, age and other things he was supposed to ask to see if she was conscious. Charlotte only looked at the man and whispered the name her heart belonged to ❝ Milo. ❞
