1, How many fics have you worked on since January?

Including both published and currently unpublished fics, in 2024 I have added words to the documents for 74 fics for a total of 133,104 words (and we're not done yet!)

13. What were your shortest and longest fics posted this year?

Shortest: Steep my senses in forgetfulness, a The Pairing ficlet I wrote for someone else to record for a Voiceteam challenge, at a whopping 400 words.

Longest: Years of dreams just can't be wrong, currently clocking in at 13,330 words

Longest completed: Never want to live (or die) without you, my beloved Santa Clarita Diet AU, at 9,999 words because @rmd-writes and @indestructibleheart challenged me to keep it under 10k.

26. Did you create fanworks other than fic?

Perhaps unsurprisingly, everyone listened to the chaos version, and I respect that.

for this im doing spirk and perceived enemies to lovers bc i love it when they think the other hates them but in reality theyre in love. my fave. im choosing mirage bc it's so iconic and it's got that extra bit of spock thinking he forfeited his right to claim jim as his own when he choked him on the bridge - Mirage by kyliselle

12. Recommend a fic that formed or changed your opinion on something (characterization, backstory, relationship, etc.)

to be honest my opinions r very easily formed and changed so if ive read a fic theres a good chance it has done one or both of those things. hmm. however im like 100% convinced that the events of by the sun and candle-light were what took place between seward and van helsing before the events of the novel. i think it just makes sense. - By the Sun and Candle-Light by @imsorryimlate

ooft. um. probably characterisation that i just can't. get around - i mean i am pretty tolerant in AU situations but some things i can't vibe with. i'll exit a fic immediately if it has sensitive material that isn't properly tagged - as an anxious girl i hate the jumpscare lmao.

8. What fic meant the most to you to write?

I went back and forth about this, but I think it's going to have to be The Wait Before the Fall. Not only was it some of my favorite writing I had ever done, before that I had never written an ending in my life. The high of having finished it was unmatched.

24. Did you do anything special to celebrate finishing a fic?

Surprisingly, as I consider myself to be deeply, pathologically sappy, I have not! I rolled from one into the next into the next into the next for all of The Consequences without even pausing to breathe, but in the future... I think celebrations should be in order. 🎉

movie: the runner-ups here were Megamind and The Lion King, but I went with TMFU because I don't think I've ever been obsessed with a movie to this degree before and it just hits all the right spots. Plus, they have actual native speakers as the background Italians, love it even for that reason alone tbh looool

season: winter always, GIMME THE COLD PLEASE

character: this one took me forever because there are so many characters that I feele very strongly about, but I went with Dean in the end, mostly because I've loved him for a very long time so like, seems fair loool
