Trump Administration Moves Closer to Revoking Chaco Canyon Protections

The Department of Interior is giving only 14 days for the public to weigh in on a proposal that could devastate the landscape surrounding Ch

Chaco Canyon is a sacred and historical site, and of course, Trump is trying to destroy it for profit. Theres a very short window during which we can submit public comments advocation for the continued protection fo this National Park and World Heritage Site.

The comment period will close on July 29, 2026. All you have to do is leave a comment, you don't have to leave any personal information, not even you name. You don't even have to speak with anyone. Just go HERE and let them know that Chaco Canyon should be protected.

In the US there are some national historical sites going to be shrunk down and used for gas/oil production. Look on the site: https://www.blm.gov/programs/energy-and-minerals/oil-and-gas/leasing

Click any state, look up the region, and find out what is there. Make a comment! You can leave as many as you want and can add information (files) into your submission. Word limit is 5,000.

I did it with the Chaco Canyon, telling them to not shrink a historical site for greed. Please help! We need to protect these lands for future generations and for indigenous people!

I mean look, Japan just started a power plant that can do the work of a couple sports fields worth of solar panels, using the difference between saltwater and freshwater, and using treated wastewater and highly salinated water using the salt from desalination plants (that are powered by the same osmosis power plant, essentially a closed system)... because they INVESTED in it. And we're still wrecking irreplaceable wonders for fucking oil?! We're way past peak oil at this point, & our entire society worldwide will collapse if we can't get past this shit! And the alternatives are there! Maybe we should stop bombing the oil producing countries and focus on finding other ways to do this shit, now we know it's possible! The oligarchs need to quit while they're ahead, they've made plenty of money!

Hey if anyone has 5 minutes to spare - today is the last day for public comments about the proposal to open up parts of Chaco Canyon for oil drilling etc. I won't go into the nitty-gritty because I'm sure we all know - this administration sucks, they're trying to make as much money off the land as possible without any consideration for cultural resources, etc. - but there's already a pre-prepared comment at the link that you can personalize, and they give more details on the issue there. It really is a quick and easy process and it would mean so much!!!
