Ethan knew that Chad was trying to keep him safe from whatever psycho killer was out there but Ethan grew up with a psycho killer as an older brother. Richie basically trained Ethan into being the perfect "final girl". He just wanted this whole Ghostface thing to go away so he could finally feel normal.

Ethan knew Mindy was suspicious of everyone including her own girlfriend but it still hurt. He didn't like answering a million questions about his whereabouts or the stares whenever he walked into a room. Ethan was just trying to keep everyone safe while keeping himself from breaking down every time he felt scared.

It hurt that Mindy kept pulling Chad away from him and that Sam made sure he was never alone with anyone especially Tara but it hurt more that Chad never said anything. He just went along with it and told Ethan that everyone was just on edge and to not take it personally but how could he not when it was obvious the only person they fully didn't trust was him.

Anika and Quinn were the only ones in his corner defending him. Quinn was ready to fight anyone who so much as looked at Ethan funny and Anika never left his side regardless of Mindy's "warnings". There was a clear divide in the group and Ethan just wanted Chad.
