Father's Day Challenge ~ Honoka Kousaka's Father
“I would do anything for love... but I won’t do that” | Natalie D’Alessandro and Bruce Waddell’s winning Free Dance at Challenge 2020
Like wind through the trees...
I keep hearing "My City was Gone" by The Pretenders as I work on my projects. The sentiment reflected in the lyrics is really hitting home for me right now.
"I was stunned and amazed My childhood memories Slowly swirled past Like the wind through the trees"
I try to be balanced but the speed at which Capitol Hill (where I was born, raised, and still live) is being changed has left me a bit devastated and overwhelmed. What will be left when this all ends?

Inspiration comes from...
The current exhibit at the Frye Art Museum - a collection of late 19th century graphic prints from the journal Pan, in particular a series of realist illustrations of the urban poor during of the Industrial Revolution.

Title: maybe we were made for each other Author: natasha/collations Responding to challenge #: 20 Word Count: 200 Characters: niall/ofc Rating: t Warnings: none Summary: i can breathe, i can breathe now (is it possible for the world to look this way forever?)
“you don’t understand,” he says, and you think you might break something, one of the wineglasses left on the table from dinner or maybe one of his front teeth.
“i think we’re done here,” you say. “you can get the check.”
niall doesn’t say anything. you kicked your heels off under the table a while ago and you reach for them now, your toes brushing first the leg of the table and then the soft leather of niall’s shoe and the bottom of his pant leg. you pull back and catch the strap of your heel in your toe and drag it back to you, but it’s too late. niall’s already grinning.
“i thought we were done here,” he says.
“i thought i didn’t understand,” you say back.
his grin falters, only for a second, but you see it, that brief moment of panic in his eyes, where he thinks that maybe this is it this time.
(it’s not, it never is, because it’s in those moments of vulnerability that you remember why you love him still.)
your shoes are on when the waiter returns with a receipt and a pen. niall signs without looking.
“ready?” he asks you.
“ready.”
