I love how Ulrich refers to Henry before heading to Nebakov:

(Your - of course refers to Hans).

I did not sleep with Bartosch this time around, this Henry is gonna only sleep with Hans this playthrough. Next playthrough, my Henry would sleep with everyone (including Kat out of curiosity before I'll reload to sleep with Hans, obv).

And Hans says he never saved Henry's life... Sir, you just saved me!

And Henry repays the favor immediately. The whole scene with Zizka and Henry standing up covered in blood to protect Hans gets me every time. It's just. So hot of him. I don't know how Hans managed not to kiss him on the one night they had in Nebakov after that. Maybe because of his concussion he didn't see it too clearly, that's the only explanation.

Oh he absolutely knew about Ulrich’s kink- you think the girls at the bathhouse know more than Bergow knows about his own men? Von Bergow doesn’t yuck your yum, as long as he can use your yum against you.

Although this does get me thinking, we know the bathhouse at Zhelejov knows about Ulrich’s tastes, but I can’t remember if we are explicitly told whether Magdalena at the baths at Trotsky castle knows. So maybe Ulrich knows to keep that stuff away from the castle? Who cares what the village people think, as long as the nobles in the castle don’t know? I wish I remember exactly what the Trosky apothecary wrote about Ulrich’s ulcers, I only remember that the apothecary really disliked Ulrich and wasn’t particularly moved to help Ulrich.

I also think Bergow sending Ulrich as the lead in the charge against Nebakov was an intentional move to get rid of Ulrich, since he, you know, almost hung a nobleman (enemy or not, makes the estate look bad), another nobleman goes missing/dies at Trosky (if you do the side quest looking for the book for the miller), the blacksmith has a reputation for doing sloppy work (Hans’ armor, the locks for the kitchen), and most of the people working at the castle are just assholes.

Ulrichs plan was 100% terrible strategy if you know how the enemy fights. Bergow, Hans, and Henry have barely survived their respective ambushes. It’s very clear that Zizka’s group fights anyway that gives them the upper hand. We see later that Zizka is willing to let Maleshov burn in order to gain an advantage. Zizka can and will play dirty in an “ends justify the means” kind of way.

And Ulrich is going to roll a very nice barrel full of fish for Zizka to shoot.

I think Bergow was thinking “let the rebels take care of the dirty work” because it seems very unlikely that Ulrich will survive. And plus, Henry just healed Captain Thomas, he can take over Ulrich’s responsibilities until he finds a new Chamberlain. I also think that, with the speed that the Prague militia shows up, that Markvart and team were already on their way, so if Bergow loses some men, he’s already got reinforcements on the way.

I also hope Bartosch gets out, too. I always wondered why Bergow left his bodyguard behind at Trosky- was it just because he was wounded after Nebakov?

Apparently he's got a scat kink. I'd talked to someone else about him before who mentioned watersports but this is so much worse. So, so much worse. No yucking anyone's yum, but it's no wonder those bathmaids would rather not... indulge that...

Your interpretation of von Bergow's actions there is fascinating. I think you're right on the money that this may have been an easy way to get rid of everyone in one fell swoop. He promised to give Hans and Henry the response to their query after the attack on Nebakov. If they die there, he never has to. His is an exceedingly strategic mind. We know that Hans is good at strategy, and him saying that this is a bad plan is a pretty decent tip-off.

I assume anyone that von Bergow actually liked (or that he still found useful / potentially easy to manipulate) got to sit Nebakov out. Makes sense tbh!!!
