At the age of twenty, it was time for Cody to find an adult job. He did the traveling thing; he did the “I’m going to try and make money off my drawings” thing; now it was time to step out from the protective financial umbrella that Justin and Susan provided him with and become a functioning adult. After several interviews, he was finally offered an internship position at the Daily Prophet. It didn’t pay well, but Justin said he would support his son as long as he needed to get off the ground.
After a long day of boring orientation, Cody went into the main break room. He was more than ready to call it a day when a rather familiar ginger woman walked in. His eyes went wide as he set his cup of tea down on one of the tables. Holy shit, it was Ginny Potter. “Hi,” he managed. Doh. He could have kicked himself for that stupid greeting. She probably thought that he was a huge idiot, or someone who couldn’t string a few sentences together. Ginny was a legend. He learned about her in History of Magic (yes, he went through seventh year in that class). He read all her Quidditch articles. He idolized her in a professional sense.
And hi is the best you can do?
