“Where on earth did you find that?”
“What, you mean this?” Vela asked, as she lifted up the heavy chunk of Sandstone, slamming it down onto her desk with a heavy THWUMP!, sending a tremor through everything else on her desk. Despite the fact that her dress was covered in a fine layer of sand, she seemed cheerful nonetheless.
“It seems to be a broken chunk off of the Relic Castle west of Route Four.” She said, her fingers trailing over the stone, sand falling off of the block and onto her desk. “Workers unearthed it while clearing out all of the sand that’s present in the lower floors. Thankfully I was able to get a hand on it before the Nacrene Museum got to add it to their collection.” Sitting in her chair, she brushed off a space on her desk and let the thing lie flag. In the carved grooves, dye had been poured into the engraved points, and while plenty of it had been worn away, the pattern itself made the entire glyph unmistakable.
It was a black dragon, a rather familiar looking one.
“Of course I will donate it once I’m done reviewing the material, but this is much simpler than arranging a date to observe it under their rules.” Using her hand, she tried brushing sand out of the grooves in order to try and read the images better. “If I’m not mistaken, the Relic Castle south of Nimbasa ought to have more information on Zekrom, so I’ve kept one eye on the excavation on the Castle.” Opening up one drawer, she grabbed a digital camera, turned it on, and took a photograph of the sand covered stone. “And ideally... today should mean all of that interest has finally paid off.”
“Although I suppose that’s a lot more than you asked for.”
