Three years ago, Derek was driving his motorcycle with his girlfriend when a drunk driver crossed over the centerline and hit them head on. Derek's girlfriend Kate was killed in the accident, and Derek was airlifted to a nearby hospital and put into a medically induced coma. When he woke up three weeks later, he was blind. The optical nerve in his right eye was severed completely from his brain, and the nerve in his left eye was severed 90%, leaving him with only 10% vision in one eye. I am helping Derek raise money through my YouTube channel so he can go to Germany and have a treatment performed called "Interno therapeutic optical nerve stimulation" which will consist of 10 therapeutic sessions, shocking the optic nerve in his eye. It is unknown how much of his eyesight he will regain, but he was told that he could possibly regain up to 70%. The trip and the surgery together will cost him about $20,000. Thus far, he has raised $4,000. He needs to raise an additional $16,000 by the beginning of November. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.Help spread the word!
