Katsuki Bakugou is not known for his silence. Well, he isn't known for it when it comes to something important, which made today and all the days prior to this one incredibly awkward and out of character for even him.
Not that anyone would be able to call him out for it, since he hadn't ushered a word to anyone.
I glance over at Deku, or rather Midoriya Izuku. He's my childhood friend. I have called him Deku for over a decade by now, so of course I was stuck to my habits like any Taurus.
How would I approach him without raising any flags to the rest of the class? Well considering everyone was busy chatting in their own groups, Deku and I had taken it upon ourselves to study together despite not talking. This would be simple.
Well fuck. This was going to end painfully awkward or questionably well. No time to waste.
"Oi Deku" I uttered in a calmer voice than normal.
I had been finishing up the second to last page of the problems me and Kaachan had reviewed earlier. Kaachan, or rather Bakugou Katsuki, my childhood friend, had decided to speak up after the hour of silence I had expected to continue.
I looked up towards Kaachan shortly after being prompted to answer.
"Uh, Hey Kaachan, did you need something?"
I said clearly with slight curiosity.
Looking at me with a calm gaze he continued.
"How open is your schedule?"
I took a short moment to think about it.
Well I am supposed to be studying with Lida tonight and having lunch with All Might tomorrow, maybe I can squeeze something In before training later this afternoon-
Before I could finish my train of thought, I was stopped.
Katsuki nodded slightly and spoke.
"Do you have time to chat? And why are you still muttering?" His head tilting ever slightly and somehow not looking annoyed.
I snapped out of it. "Right, sure let's chat! Um how about right after class? What's this about anyway?"
I uttered holding back my excitement.
Omg he's talking to me? Ah.
Kaachan turned his attention away quickly and went back to his phone.
I was about to ask where but my phone grabbed my attention before I could say anything.
Ok well that was the meeting spot I suppose.
Fuck I am awful with words. Why did I have to be such an asshole to him.
"Izuku" I spoke nonchalantly.
"I haven't addressed you that way in a long time, huh?" I questioned more to myself than him.
Deku however, was rather stuck in his own thoughts at the moment.
I pondered as we walked up the stairs slowly after class.
Really, I just wondered what Kaachan wanted to talk about. It has been a while since we had a one on one that wasn't strictly about training.
Kaachan opened the door and gestured me to go through.
I regretted how awkward that sounded as soon as it slipped out of my mouth.
Kaachan sighed as we walked out on the roof. He turned slightly towards me and tossed something my way.
"It's that drink you like"
I turned the drink over in my hands to read the familiar label.
"You..." I pause. "Remembered." I take a moment to absorb this tidbit of info.
"Well duh, I knew you first. Anyways I do have something to say. I also have something to ask you first." Katsuki articulated.
Kaachan's then glanced over into the courtyard where our classmates could be seen still leaving towards the dorms. His eyes however seemed to search for something more distant.
"Why did you forgive me?" Kaachan spoke barely above a whisper.
"I was awful. And yet you chose to forgive me. I know I only hit you once, but I never should have in the first place."
This was not expected at all.
