The #scapula ,commonly referred to as the #shoulderblade , is the bone that sits above the rib cage in the upper back. The #scapulae can move in six directions and each movement is produced by specific, primary muscles. Many athletes struggle with pressing or pulling overhead. Full range of motion for raising your arms overhead requires sixty-degrees of upward rotation from the shoulder blade. This coordinated movement of the scapula with the arm (glenohumeral rhythm) is what supports the overhead mobility needed for overhead arm extension. Hence it is extremely important to work on #thoracicmobility for overall shoulder health. Always incorporate below mobility drills into your daily practise. The greater the mobility in thoracic spine and shoulders, the better will your lifts be in the gym. Exercises like #squats #deadlifts #overheadpresses In the gym will benefit from greater mobility. #mobilitydrills #dynamicstretching #neckrolls #shoulderroll #chandrasana #shoulderdislocations #wallslide #scappushups #marjariasana #thoracictwist #pectoralstretch #healthyshoulders #thoracicmobility #scapularmobility (at Poona Club Swimming)
