It was a peaceful day. Birds yelling at each other. The plants growing and feeding off the sun. Trees that have stood the sands of time being eaten alive by fungus, ants, and grubs. But today that changes for a few trees a as a ship, stingray like in shape, came screaming down.
It took out tree tops and gouged the earth, and four of the impressive trees fell, uprooted by their new guest.
As the ship steamed, a hatch opened, blue smoke bellowed out as a figure clutched the side, hacking. They looked like they were dressed in a well made tail coat with LED lights. But, if one were closer they would see the cloth would shine metal, and was as flexible as skin. They looked to have no face as well, just more lights and strange material.
"O-Oro," the figure wheezed, "Status?"
"All systems are reporting minor failures, Operator," a voice called out, "Life suport, anti-gravity, as well as propulsion are unresponsive."
The person slamed their fist on the side, "Oh, sorry Oro. Recorces needed? And how long this time?"
"Again, we need ferrite. And sadly an Argon crystal. However, I do detect a settlement three hundred, seventy two miles east."
"Ugh, I'll be back. Stay locked up unless one of us returns." They whistled, and a cat with nearly no fur and a fan like tail the size of a medium sized dog trotted to their side. "Charmer and I will go searching."
They reached behind them and pulled a bow around the the front, arrow at the ready. With a kick that left quite the imprint, they were in the tree limbs, heading for the settlement.
