I saw this, and it was part of a conversation I have my sissy whenever we chat. Our dad always corrected us whenever we said we ’need’ something. He’d say, ”Now Renee is it a need or do you just want it,” and it was never a question, of course. So my sis and I find ourselves doing this with each other as adults when we discuss our future financial purchases no matter how small. Good Night! #changingfamilydynamics #needsoverwants #armyveterans #armyretired #Repost @theminimalists with @get_repost ・・・ How often do you say you need something? I need a new pair of shoes. I need that new widget. I need mo’ money!⠀ ⠀ I need,⠀ I need.⠀ I need!⠀ ⠀ Perhaps we need to choose our words more carefully.⠀ ⠀ There are times we actually need something: Sometimes we really do need a new pair of shoes, a new winter coat, or a triple-tall soy latte (probably not). We obviously need food, water, housing, and clothes. And, to live a fulfilling life, we need our health, our relationships, our sanity.⠀ ⠀ But there are many things we do not need: the majority of things we think we need, are only things we want.⠀ ⠀ You already have everything you need.⠀ ⠀ Look around—you’ll never need more than this.⠀ ⠀ ✒️ @joshuafieldsmillburn & @ryannicodemus⠀ 📷 @montylov (at Fayetteville, North Carolina)
