Bernard Fanning's third album, Civil Dusk, is a return to the folksy sound of his solo debut, and a welcome one. Departures was a natural transition after the heavier years towards the end of Powderfinger, but he's at his peak with these more personal and heartfelt tunes. I wouldn't say it hits the same heights as Tea & Sympathy, but it's a step back in that direction, and certainly not a bad album. It's only the first part of a double effort, Brutal Dawn having been released just this last week, but this 2016 effort left me eagerly anticipating the conclusion to come. Highlight tracks include Wasting Time, Reckless, Changing Pace, and Sooner Or Later. Available on iTunes and Spotify. Very physical day at work today, considered skipping the arms/back/core session, but came through in the end with good results. Cold weather is going to play havoc with old injuries, but I love it. #gym #health #fitness #fit #beard #ink #tattoos #tuesday #fiveforfive #armday #backday #coreday #comewithmeifyouwanttolift #irontherapy #bernardfanning #civildusk #2016 #wastingtime #changingpace #reckless #soonerorlater #rock #alternative #folk #blues #australiana #australia #itunes #spotify
