Fic Idea I'll probably Never Write I might End Up Writing

(Title changed because I realized I kinda love this)

Warriors as a changeling.

You know the story, the mum who's baby is stolen by the fae, and when she's given the chance to reclaim her child, she's presented with her baby and a changeling child that the fae have planted? And they look near identical? Yeah, that.

Warriors' mum had a child, but the midwife or whatever was fae and stole the baby away before she could even look at them. When she'd finally hunted the fae down there were two blonde haired little babies asleep in the cradle, and rather than choosing one or the other, Missus Taylor scooped both those babies up right then and there and told the fae good-day and good riddance.

Linkle was the original, Warriors was the changling. Their mum says they were just twins, and neither grow up with any idea of the truth

Until, of course, the war, where Warriors is rescuing fairies left right and center and forming the fairy corps, unknowingly becoming something of a temporary great fairy for them because none of them have a fountain home or great fairy to answer to anymore, and he's supplying them with food, clothes, care, a home, and magic, so he must be an adoptive great fairy, right?

He's confused, but just rolls with it. The fairies have no clue that he isn't aware of his own fairy blood, and just think he's particularly modest or whatever, or just prefers living like a mortal. Still, he's got the enchanting good looks and all the magic brewing up under his skin, so, like, there's no way people around him actually think he's a hylian, right?

Bring it to LU, and you have a Hyrule who takes one look at him and goes "huh, a changling who's somewhat sane? that's new, oh well" but ever so slowly starts piecing together that Wars has No Idea, and either or has to grapple with that himself, or inform the captain.

Maybe this results in Hyrule becoming Warriors Fairy God-Father? So to speak? Like, he's teaching him how to properly fairy, while also aware of the fact that Wars is full blooded, and very strong,a d he's just a half-blood himself. And just a normal fairy too, whereas the captain is honestly Great Fairy material (fairies work like bees, when nurtured slightly differently from the rest, they become great fairies, much like a baby bee can be nurtured into a queen or a worker).

But yeah, that jumped into my head yesterday because of a comment on ACAC, and I wanted to put it out there.

I belong on the ancient moors in loose fitting clothes, surrounded by wild cats. I am meant to be mysterious and off putting, a wispher on the wind, a tale told to fighten children from wandering off. Otherworldly, unknowable.

I want there to be legends that I was born alongside the earth itself, that even time fears to touch me. I want men to fear me for I will take women (both cis and trans) who wish not to wed them away. That I'd come at night and wisk their brides-to-be into the mist itself

I take them in and shelter them. When they are ready they go off on their own cloaked in the same mist and mystery I am and save women in other parts. Never to old or to young to join me. Wether they are fleeing an existing marriage, an upcoming one, or the concept they will ever be expected to marry. They become ethereal beings like me.

Should a man attempt to take one of them away we would fight and leave the man gutted on display a warning that no man is welcome in our world. That any man who dare try to lay his hand on a girl who did not wish it will perish, bloody and painfully.

Even the girls that choose to remain in the human realm. Should they ever call out for our help we would descend from the sky en masse and slaughter him.

Character sketches for a story based on a dream I had that I wont have time to write in the near future. Summary below the cut

A far future Mizar was taken by true / high Fae as a child,  and managed to get out using an obviously intentional security flaw left by her Lord/Lady (Liege?) who wanted to initiate a hunt. She knows that her Liege let her go for the sake of the chase, and that she has almost no chance of actually getting free. She doesn’t really care. She wants revenge on her biological father, who used his “claim” from their blood ties to offer her to the Fae in order to destroy her mothers (ironically this didn’t work at all as the Fae left behind a soulless husk that did a perfectly good job living the role she was made to fill, leaving no one - including the husk - aware that the she wasn’t the original).

So Mizar reenters the physical plane with the single goal to stay away from her pursuers long enough to ruin this mans life, when Alcor notices that the bond between him and Mizar - which has been very quiet this past life - is suddenly filled with rage and fear. He checks it out, instantly notices that the soul bond was basically clumsily tied to a decoy, and finds the real Mizar in no time at all. 

Mizar is fucking terrified because demon. She refuses to listen to anything that Alcor has to say and gets the heck out as quickly as she can. He lets her as he doesn’t want to spook her any more then he already has but sends some Nightmares to keep an eye on her while he tries to figure out if he can deal with the Fae in a way that wont give him a large amount of grief in the future. 

This all leaves Mizar trying to ruin or kill a man while trying to stay away from the Fae Hunters, trying to avoid these nightmares that are inexplicably following her, and trying to figure out why a bloody demon of all things is interested in her specifically.
