The way most HALT agents are nepo babies or hella rich too. Like, Hector being too scared to even be in Troy's room because it lowkey looks like a combo of these two rooms:

And Hector not even wanting to BREATH in his room and he's all: "Oh...wow." and Troy is all: "I-Is it too nerdy? Its too nerdy, isn't it? I could, uh, I could install a punching bag! You know?"

Not to mention that he has tons of expensive lab equipment as well for his own research so Hector is investigating a crime but his team is busy so he goes to Troy and Troy just looking at it and Troy is all: "Huh, it looks like a weird cross between Methamphetamine and a synthetic cannabinoid, man, this is ridiculously dangerous and could mean a lot of trouble this gets spread. I could alert the Triplets to help you."

Hector: "You think HALT is gonna help me?" and Troy frowns and he's all: "I...suppose you have a point. If I cross reference the recent drug deals the twins busted, I might be able to pinpoint which location is producing these-"

Or like, when Troy takes him out to eat and he's all: "Yeah, it's nowhere fancy. Dress casual." and Hector gets there and HE FEELS SO OUT OF PLACE AND UNDER DRESSED and Troy shows up and he isn't wearing a suit but his "casual" outfits are so clearly expensive and he's all: "Hey, Hector, wow! You look great!"

Hector: "Troy, you said this place was casual!"

Troy: "It is!"

Hector: "Then we must have two different definitions of casual- IS THAT PEDRO PASCAL!?"

Troy: "Oh, cool, he got back from shooting scenes for his next project. He's so nice, I could introduce you if you wan-"

Hector: "NO!"

Troy's parents do sometimes come back to America for important conventions and Troy kinda letting Hector know that he's going to kinda keep his distance and stuff. Like, he'll text Hector but he can't be seen with him, NOT BECAUSE HE'S ASHAMED BUT HIS PARENTS BARELY WANT HECTOR TO BE HIS FRIEND, SO NEVERMIND HIS BOYFRIEND. But he smiles at text messages he gets from Hector and his dad is all: "Troy, pliers."

And Troy is still texting and Kong Pei frowns and looks up: "TROY."

Troy: "Oh, uh, sorry, dad."

Kong Pei: "This is why you nearly got beaten in the fight against Chase Choi and that Sonic Boom kid."

Troy, muttering: "I'd like to see you try and fight the both of them."

Kong Pei: "I can't help but worry that Hector boy is what's throwing you off your game. I mean, do you really want to be friends with him? What are his ambitions for the future? Or does he intend to continue to work at that dingy gym."

Troy: "That dingy gym literally trained Black Canary and Knockout...The best fighters in the hero world."

Kong Pei: "Broken clocks can be right sometimes, I suppose."

So when Troy is able to meet up with Hector, Troy storming into his room and falling into his bed and he SCREAMS INTO A PILLOW and Hector is all: "...So I assume your parents visit is not going well?"

Troy: "MY DAD IS SO FUCKING ANNOYING. HE'S A GENIUS, YEAH, BUT HE'S SO JUDGEMENTAL....My mom is alright, I guess. She still thinks my name is Trent but it's whatever...."

And Hector frowns and rubs his back and he's all: "I'm sorry."

Troy: "No, I'm sorry...I wish I could just...you know, leave them behind and not have to hide you anymore. You're, like, the only one who gets me." and Hector chuckling and kissing his lips and Troy smiles and kisses him back before snatching him into a hug♡

I did watch the new Kung Fu Panda movie and like...I liked that we got to see Tai Lung but the overall plot was meh and it felt like the writers for this movie never watched a Kung Fu Panda movie before in their life. But Troy and Chase posts tonight-

There was a point in time when Troy's parents were proud of him and didn't just see him as an inferior child compared to Chase. Similar to Tai Lung and Shifu, his parents were very attentive and had so many great expectations that Troy wanted to reach and he promised them that he would. A time before Chase realized she had powers, when they were equals. They were friends but they were also rivals. So when Chase became a hero, that's when Troy's parents realized their child could never compare to Ryan and Doris's. Kong Pei and Ryan did have frenemy relationship and Kong Pei hated how Ryan managed to become so successful with the JUSTICE LEAGUE AND when they both worked for Palmer Tech, RAY PALMER SAW POTENTIAL IN RYAN TO BE THE NEXT ATOM. So Kong Pei being upset that they were gonna lose again and Jiayi being a bit dissapointed because she knew Troy was gonna get left behind a lot as Chase started to make more cooler superhero friends. Like, he'd be watching the TV seeing her and the other hero girls fight a criminal and Chase smiling at the TV and hugging Martha and she's all: "I couldn't have done it without my best friend!"

and Troy's smile fading because...he was supposed to be her best friend. (CHASE USED TO CALL HIM HER BEST FRIEND 5 EVER SO, LIKE, YEAH MARTHA'S HER BEST FRIEND BUT SHE ALSO MADE IT CLEAR THAT TROY WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO GOT HER BUT TROY DIDN'T SEE THAT). So, like, he becomes bitter because his parents promised to support him and be there but once Chase surpassed him, they LITERALLY JUST GAVE UP. They're all: "Just become a doctor, marry a nice and smart man or woman. That's the least you can do."

But yeah, no, I just love the idea that Troy just wanted to feel equal to Chase in the end and that's why he used the Beasts but now, he realizes its a mistake but it's too dangerous to let anyone else have that power and stuff. But also, it's like he's reclaiming his sense of self. Like the Beasts corrupting him and trying to tell him what to do and he just is all: "NO! I'M TIRED OF PEOPLE TELLING ME WHO I SHOULD BE AND WHAT I SHOULD DO. I'M DOING WHAT I WANT NOW AND SOME UGLY ASS BEASTS AREN'T GOING TO STOP ME."

Qi Rong: "...Wow, I'm almost proud of you."

Hundun: "Almost."

But him also being more assertive because Blaise is making fun of him and he's all: "BLAISE!...I mean, Blaise. You're jokes aren't funny to me, they hurt my feelings."

Blaise: "Boo fucking hoo. I'm not your mom, I don't care about your feelings-"

Troy: "Okay, I get it. You're the cool bitchy one but I'm being serious here. I'm not having a good day right now, I'm not really in a good headspace and frankly, I don't see why it would kill you to not be nicer! I'm always nice to you and all I ask in return is a little bit of slack, please!"

and she sees how dead serious he is and stuff and she's all: "...I'm sorry, dude. I'll, uh, I'll cut back..."

and then he smiles and is all: "Thanks."

and then he goes home to Hector and he's all: "BABE, YOU'RE NOT GONNA BELIEVE WHAT I DID. I STOOD UP TO BLAISE. Now all I have to do is stand up to Misha-"

Hector: "Troy, I love and am proud of you, but the last time you did that; he beat you up in front of his baby and his baby was laughing at you. Let's just focus on you standing up to Blaise."

OKAY SO, Troy's family isn't really the best when it comes to celebrating the holidays. Like, he invites his boyfriend over a lot and he's all: "Aren't you nervous your parents might not like me around?" and Troy is all: "I mean, they're back home in China. They'll be there for four months." and Hector frowns and he's all: "But...it's Christmas?" and Troy shrugs and he's all: "It's...fine. I spent Christmas and Chinese New Year with Chase and her family but...you know, that's not really an option. I-If...you wanted to, I wouldn't mind you spending the night!" and TROY'S GOT A KING SIZED BED AND SHIT and just tons of other things but he makes a futon bed for Hector *even tho Hector always ends up sleeping next to Troy* BUT TROY MAKING MOON CAKES WITH HIM and trying to figure out some Mexican Christmas traditions and stuff. BUT ALSO, LIKE, Hector seeing how many presents his parents left him and Troy is all: "Yeah...they just kinda get me the same things every year. Some manga, a chemistry kit, some science textbooks, sports equipment for sports I don't even play." and Hector just being all: "Still...it must be nice..." and Troy looks at him.

SO HIM ASKING HALT MEMEBERS WHAT TO GET HECTOR FOR CHRISTMAS GIFTS and when Hector comes back, there's more gifts and he SEES THAT THEY'RE FOR HIM AND TROY SMILES SHYLY AND HE'S ALL: "I-I mean, you deserve them a-and, its our first Christmas as boyfriends...so yeah..."

FOR CHAOSCAT- LITERALLY IMAGINE THAT TROY AND HECTOR PRACTICE AFTERCARE FIRST mostly to stall for sex but Troy is all: "I-I just don't want us to have sex and then NOT know what to do after, you know? And aftercare is the most important part!" but since they were raised in a heternormative environment, they kinda do feel awkward about spoiling and pampering each other BECAUSE THEIR MASCULINITY so Troy just being all: "...What makes you feel loved and cared for? Like...whats something you look forward too after a hard day?" and Hector blushing as his eyes awkwardly look at Troy's bare chest and Troy just tilting his head in confusion but then he's all: "...OH! o-oh...I get it..." and Hector is all: "What about you?" and Troy blushes and he's all: "...I just like talking to you...Like, its not always obvious but I know you listen and it means a lot to me..."

So aftercare for them is Hector laying on Troy's chest and Troy info dumping and he's so happy and rubbing circles on Hector's back. Then, like, the next day Robert is all: "Congrats on the sex. Vincent told me you and Troy practiced aftercare!"

Hector: "O-Oh, we did but we didn't have sex..."

Robert: "...What??"

I am going to flesh out Troy more but I do genuinely think he's naturally a jealous person. It does not stop at just Chase and once he gets more comfortable in his "Hero" role, then he starts acting more like a HALT agent. Cunning, sly, manipulative, and overall mean. Like, he notices how Misha really commends Hector for his strength during a fight and Troy frowns and when they train at his place, Troy just giving Hector the silent treatment and Hector frowns because he's not used to it.

Hector: "...Troy, are you upset?"

Troy: "No."

Hector: "Are you sure?"

Troy: "I'm fine."

So Hector decides not to press on the subject since Troy clearly doesn't want to talk about it but then Troy just looks at him and says: "I don't get why Brute Force acknowledged you and not me. I mean, what do I have to do to prove myself to them?"

Hector: "Nothing. You have nothing to prove, Troy-"

and Troy turns around and glares at him: "So how come they see YOU as their equal? I'm stronger now, I know I'm smarter, and I at least have powers! What do you even do?"

and his eyes glow green and Hector notices but frowns and he just pushes his way past Troy and Troy kinda gets pushed to the wall *which is kind of petty on Hector's part but he doesn't really care considering his boyfriend mocked him* and Troy looks back and glares at Hector to say something but then he stops himself when he sees how angrily Hector slammed the door and his eyes go back to normal and he's all: "...Shit. Why did I say that???"

He will apologize, he'll even grovel at his knees, and he is being genuine when he apologizes but Hector is just very aware of how jealous Troy is. He starts to notice when Troy gets upset that Blaise got chosen for an important mission instead of him, he starts to notice how often Troy gives dirty looks to people who look at Hector for too long, and he even notices when Troy is jealous of HIM.

He does still deeply love Hector but it also shows what his state of his mind is and how being apart of HALT kind of enhances his flaws. Troy will tone it down for Hector and try to make it not be as obvious but even when he's trying to hide his jealousy, he does it badly. Hector gets appointed with an award and Troy just smiles and hugs him and when they're in private, Troy shoving him against the wall and making out with him and Hector doesn't mind it but he notices how Troy holds him more tightly. How his kiss is more aggressive, like he's trying to make his envy go away via make out session and when he pulls back, he smiles at Hector but it's totally strained.

Troy: "Good job, babe! I'm proud of you!"

Hector: "...Thank you..."
