1/100 days of productivity

So I've been very slowly working on the prelim reading list my department sent me to catch up on literary theory before we show up as naked chickens. I'm honestly probably not putting as much effort into it as I should be but I'm still struggling to push myself to be productive even if I do want to work on the things I should be reading about. My reading speed is pretty slow I think because I get caught on small things too much so it takes me hours to read 20 pages of theory. Not good. I should learn how to skim better, maybe.

However, I did read Freud's Uncanny the other day and actually followed his arguments to the point that I had anticipated one of his take aways so that was Fun and Exciting for me.

I'm considering starting like... a tag or series or something of essentially me just sharing my notes on the things I'm reading and learning. We'll see.

I went book shopping! My intention was to find the books I need for my classes second hand but I only managed one second hand bookstore before my bag got too heavy, so I'm going to have to go back in a day or two to actually buy the books for class instead of books for pleasure.

Getting ready for classes. I'm going to go to some second hand bookshops tomorrow to see if I can find any of the books I'm going to need for my courses, so maybe we'll actually get some book content on this page soon haha.

Everyone I've met so far at uni is really nice, which I'm extremely releaved by even if I shouldn't have even been that worried to begin with. I haven't met anyone from my department yet though, but hopefully when classes and things start I'll become friends with them!
