FebHyurAry #25 - Emote
He knew they were teasing him. Keppi didn't know how to snap her fingers silently as she mimicked the gesture he used so often, and Hythlodaeus couldn't keep his giggling quiet.
Not that he'd stop them from having their silly fun. He'd let them double over and clutch each other and laugh when he reached the picnic first.
And then eat all of the boiled sweets Keppi brought from her latest excursion across the star, leaving none for them.
“He’s adorable! Are they going to keep this concept? I love it!”
“Ask Hythlodaeus, I have no idea.”
“Come pet him, he makes the cutest noises!”
“No.”
“Pleaaaaaaaaaase? Just pet him for a moment?”
“There. I am petting the... what was the name of it again? Capara?”
“I’m telling Hythlodaeus that you love this concept.”
“Please do not. He’s due to meet us here and I do not want to have the two of you squealing about this all night.”
spring: what does your OC miss most? will they ever be reunited? how would they feel about that?
Meli genuinely misses, not just the man she fell in love with twice, but the ignorance that kept her from so much pain. Before she fought for Norvrandt's night skies, Meli believed that subtle emptiness she felt could be called healing grief for Haurchefant.
And then she met Emet-Selch, fell in love with him, forced herself to destroy him, only to meet him again as her unsundered soul knew him.
While fighting the Final Days, Meli learned that she'd once been part of a circle of love, not a triangle, and that the emptiness she felt came from not only having a sundered soul, but having lost Hythlodaeus and Hades.
Meli can't quite bring herself to do anything drastic to get herself into the aetherial sea in hopes of meeting them again. At their last moments, Hades told her to do justice to her seat and explore the star they'd all paid such a high cost to preserve. And so she will, albeit with that subtle emptiness sharpened by the knowledge of what she's lost.
