Long before they could even think, long before they even knew what the meaning of the word ‘was’, ‘where’ or ‘why’, they saw it. A glittering stage, a shining light, and the planet with them far above it.
They were built to be a leader. Built to be a King. Queen. Ruler. A brilliant being to serve justly and fairly over all those that entered their territory. It was a vision that they had kept close their entire life.
Silvan woke up.
‘Another of the same dream,’ they thought as they shook themselves as they stood. One of the only bad things about their shining coat was that they had a tendency to shed glitter on occasion.
They huffed with annoyance. Shedding their summer coat was a pain in the ass.
It was a bright morning, Pokemon singing in the trees and chattering amongst themselves. Silvan merely only needed to look in their direction for them to go quiet, staring at them with some degree of reverence.
That was more like it.
They stretched, leaning back on their back legs with a groan, and then stretching forward for their back legs. Just as they went to pick up their bag, they paused, ears flicking, and then looked over right at whomever just entered their territory. Their deep blue eyes narrowed, their gaze intense. For some reason, you feel the urge to bow your head under the might of their sheer look.
Type: Normal / Fairy
Abilities: Serene Grace / Libero (Hidden)
Evolves from Eevee once it reaches maximum Intelligence stat in contests while wearing a Blank Crown.
Beauty Eon’s are well known for frequenting human settlements to read books, and many of them have become incredibly accomplished at reading multiple languages. Beauty Eons boast a very high intelligence stat that they do not like being overlooked for their beauty, and a test for any human trainer that dreams of owning one would be in how they raise their Eevee. Those who are wild and seek this evolution often take on human disguises, hidden in plain sight.
Simon @ Silvan: Regardless you find-- or don't find-- that what you're looking for, do you plan to go to elsewhere afterwards?
“I mean, I’m already going somewhere from here,” Silvan sounded dismissive towards Simon for a moment, as they were too busy packing to pay any attention to what they were.
“I’ll just keep going ‘till–” Silvan stopped talking when they realised it was a Manaphy that was addressing them.
“Ah–um…” They were caught completely off guard. What was a water Pokemon doing all the way out here?! Quickly they pulled out a water bottle and promptly dumped it on Simon’s head.
“Y-y-y-you shouldn’t be here! There’s no water around here!”
(@askgrampaquaza) Grampa: Elemental gems, you say? Hm, well don't Eevees evolve into many different types? Perhaps a family member of yours could have some knowledge where to find them. That is, if you have family around... (His tone sounds somber near the end, hoping the Eevee wasn't truly alone in this world)
Silvan looked shocked for a moment - they had never seen a Legendary Pokemon before, let alone a God. They had heard from their family that the seven Gods of Earth included a Rayquaza.
It obviously wasn't this one, but it was not something they suspected they'd see every day. They were so shocked, they didn't hear the first half of his question, only the second, and all they could think of was to not let this Elder be sad.
“N-Not a lot to say, really,” they laid down to bask in the sun for a while as they turned to Grampa to continue talking. They hadn’t spoken this much in ages.
“I have a mum and a dad, and an uncle of note,” it had been a month since they had started their trip, and they did miss their family, if only a little.
“My mum evolved into a Swan Princess Espeon,” they smiled, “she’s the leader of the pack. My dad is a Flareon, just the standard, though. I think he considers himself the luckiest ‘mon in the Universe for getting a mate as pretty as my mum.”
Even amongst the colony, she was a beauty. She was revered as a kind and caring ruler, but her mystical charms and curses were ones that struck fear into any enemies encroaching upon the pack.
“I’ve got, like, a dozen brothers, and one sister,” they grinned, “my sis’s name is Rose. My brothers are either still Eevee or gone on to start their own territories since some of them are Fairy Tail Eevee’s like me. None of them are shiny, though. I’m the only one in my colony who was born silver. That's why I got my name - Silvan.”
(OOC note: Where I lived as a young kid, there was a Reservoir called ‘Silvan Reservoir’ that absolutely fascinated me as a kid because the water, whenever I went past, shone silver. Being as young as I was I didn’t realise it was a trick of the light, but as a kid I was convinced that because of its name, it must’ve been made of liquid silver. For some silly reason, the place still sticks with me and it’s one of my favourite places on Earth to visit. I love it so much. So yes I named my Main Character after a fucking lake :P )
Nono: My, I've never encountered an Eevee here. What brings you to the Dreamyard, my friend?
@two-many-twos
A visitor. This was new. Most visitors didn’t just approach them out of nowhere. They blinked and then sat up straight, poised in a rigid pose. Their eyes held a gaze that punctured - steady and strong.
This Pokemon... was incredibly strange. Even though they had met a fair share of oddities given their own species, this one was something else. They had never seen a Pokemon like them before. The way their markings moved reminded them of fire.
There was something rather unnerving about them, which made them on guard.
“You're a stranger to me, but I’m keeping watch of the world,” they said cryptically. “It’s my duty to rule. Where, I do not know yet.”
Silvan finally made it to the entrance of the cave. It had taken them several months to travel from Hoenn to Unova, the place where they knew Gems could be found.
Their parents had been very clear; find the gems, and with a crown, they could then evolve into their chosen form.
Silvan already had a crown in their travel bag, along with food, potions, and all sorts of supplies for their long, long journey. They might be a young adult, but they were old enough to take care of themselves.
Donning a rain coat and boots made just for them for their back feet, Silvan stepped into the cave.
And immediately drew attention from the trainers present inside. The Pokeball to the face was most unpleasant.
Their face was a glare as the trainers looked surprised at the eevee not going into one of their stupid balls; “why didn’t it work?!” one muttered to the other.
“Hashtag failed capture, idiot,” the other joked as they prepared another ball. Silvan saw the colouring was different to the other ball that had been so rudely thrown in their face. “Watch a master at work!”
Silvan boredly watched as the ball was thrown, and the red light zapped down to them… before it pretty much bounced off of them. The shiny eevee moved their head with the ball as it fell to the ground, and the trainers seemed stunned.
“Ueev-ii,” Silvan snorted at the pair.
“Uh, I think this one is owned by someone,” one said to the other, looking uncomfortable.
“Va-vee.” Silvan replied, tone obviously bored. But then they spotted something on one of the trainer’s bags, and it was just what they were looking for.
They pointed to the Go-Goggles, “vee-vee.”
“Er,” the trainers looked at each other, “you want this?”
“Vee,” they nodded. Silvan needed those.
“Look, eevee, I need those,” said trainer looked wary, “they’re hard to get.”
“Euee…” Silvan looked down. They looked visibly sad at that. It made the humans look even more uncomfortable.
“Come on, we can get another set at the department store.”
“Yeah, but they’re really expensive! Like 10,000 pokedollars!”
“Vee?” What was it that the nuggets sold for? Wasn’t it some of that?
“Vee-vee-” the trainers watched as Silvan dug through their bag. They were sure they had picked one up. And with some victory, they pulled one out.
“Va-vee vee, uie.” They pointed to the goggles, and pointed to the nugget.
“You want to trade?”
“Vee.”
They both looked at each other. These two trainers were still pretty young looking, though they weren’t stupid. Silvan looked pleadingly at the trainers.
“Uieeee?” It was obviously a please.
The trainers sighed. The one with the goggles took it off his belt and held it out for the eevee while taking the nugget. “At least that’s half of it down.”
“Vee!” Silvan was so happy, they took the goggles, “Va-vee!”
“Yeah yeah. Least I could do after I threw a ball at you.”
“Vee…” they were not wrong.
With a wave, the trainers went on their way, and Silvan waved them off with a smile. A rare sight indeed.
They continued on their trek through the cave, looking left and right as they did. Other Pokemon seemed surprised to see them, as though an eevee was an unusual sight to see. They supposed it was unusual in Unova, given they seemed as though they were cut off from the other four well known regions to the east. Eventually, however, they finally found what they were looking for.
Spinning rapidly in the middle of the cave floor was a dust cloud. It was as though a tiny tornado had spawned at random in the cave. Silvan pondered for a moment as to how such things just appeared in mid air within caves of this region, but decided not to expend too much brain power on it. They had enough to focus on.
Silvan quickly put on a pair of Go-Goggles as they prepared themselves to step into the spinning wind. They had prepared for this… they had done their best to practise with wind moves. It wouldn’t be the first time they step into one of these…
They jumped into the cloud - that gem was THEIRS!
… and promptly got thrown out by the wind.
The eevee screeched as they were thrown to the ground by the violent gust. The CLUNK of their body hitting the ground elicited giggles from the nearby Pokemon as they watched the spectacle. Silvan huffed and glared at them as they slowly got to their feet. Their HP had been struck by the stupid dust.
“Here goes…” they muttered to themselves to try and brace their body. They crawled low on the ground, claws out as they inched closer to the whirling wind. It was as though they were stalking their prey.
Then, they bolted into the storm. This time, they gritted their teeth and dug their claws into the dirt as they battled the wind. The mini tornado wanted to lift the eevee up into itself once more to throw them out, but Silvan resisted. They reached out to whatever was in the cloud, desperate to grab whatever it was within it. Their paws landed on something hard. Something small.
The wind dissipated instantly. Silvan fell into the dirt with a grunt, breathing hard from the effort to keep themselves from being thrown. They shook themselves off - there was dirt in their fur now. Ugh.
But when they saw what their paws had grabbed, their face lit up in a delighted smile. In their paws was a pale pink-brown gem the size of a shrunk Pokeball. They held it in their paws, panting from the effort it took to secure their first gem.
“Normal…” they said softly, their panting growing less. Silvan sat up and after recovering from their ‘fight’, holding the gem. It sparkled in the low light, and it resonated with them as a Normal type. Carefully, Silvan opened their bag and pulled out the delicate silver tiara that had been passed down their family for generations. In the centre was a space - room for the very gem they held to be placed.
Their paws shaking, Silvan placed it into the tiara. It fit perfectly. Then, they placed it on their head. Their parents and siblings had said that if the evolution that they sought was right for them, the tiara would glow. It would allow all of them to start their journey for the evolution quest they would have to undertake in order to evolve. Given the amount of work it took to evolve a certain way, the crown was an easy tell to help with bypassing a significant amount of work that quite frankly, Silvan just wasn’t interested in.
The tiara felt heavy and uncomfortable. The eevee didn’t like it at all, and although the Normal Gem did resonate with them as a normal type Pokemon, Silvan quickly ripped off the tiara with deep annoyance, and glared at the gem.
Things really couldn’t be easy, could it?
They sighed. No use having a temper tantrum over their first attempt to evolve. They placed the tiara back on their head, took a deep breath, and closed their eyes as they slowly let it out. They began to get used to the feeling of the crown on their head… it was still heavy, and it was still uncomfortable, but slowly but surely they acclimated to the sensation of the heavy object on their head.
Still… there was no.. desire. No urge to journey on a path towards their goal. No sense of change. No urge to do so.
Silvan sighed and opened their eyes. Carefully, they took the crown off and looked at the gem they had worked so hard to obtain. It sparkled still, but no glow, no energy within that made them want to seek out the evolution to an Eon.
“I guess normal type is out…” they placed the gem and tiara back in their bag, and began to make their way out of the cave.
Oh wow, hello! Your coat is absolutely beautiful, I’ve never seen anything like it! I was just wondering what you’re doing here, in this place? Are you looking for something in particular, or are you just passing through?
Another visitor. How unusual. Silvan continued to keep their poised pose and wasn’t sure if they wanted to reveal too much of their journey, but they didn’t think much would change, nor could anyone really interrupt the trip. They did preen, however, at the remark about their fur. They were proud of their coat, even if at times it was annoying.
“I need to find the Elemental Gems,” they said simply, their tail swishing around to wrap around their feet. “I know there are many stories saying one is able to find these gems easily, all in the one location, but it’s not the case in this world.”
Silvan thought about it some more, and answered further;
“The Elemental Gems is what I need to evolve into my chosen evolution. These Gems are located across the world. To collect them all will be difficult, but I am determined.”
