Sure he keeps saying that Asta he couldn't see, but surely he was there for a reason to witness that moment. Surely he knew that That Grimoire was going to be an inconvenience at the very least, so why not destroy it? Sure the Grimoires come back to the towers after a mage dies but that doesn't automatically mean that they could not be destroyed, right? If they can be corrupt, if they can be taken from their original users, if they can be given to other forms of life (such as demons) then surely there is a way to destroy them?
The new chapter is out! Seeing the ending maybe we’ll finally have Casca’s pov? I would love her to actually not being in need of saving and just be treaten as a guest and admiring Falconia while having mix feelings about it of course, after all it was the dream she used to fight for before all of that happened I could see a bittersweet feeling from her at this sight
Well we did get that one chapter from Casca's point of view, chapter 372 where she was just like, a personality-less nonentity again, this time in a new way lol.
It would be nice to see her awake and active at some point again before the end. I would absolutely love to see some complicated feelings about Falconia from her, there's so much interesting character stuff you could theoretically delve into with her being in Falconia right now. Unfortunately I don't have very high hopes that we'll be seeing a whole lot of interesting complicated character stuff with Casca now, but you never know. At the very least maybe Schierke's astral projection will wake her up and we'll get a chapter from her awake and active point of view.
Anyway thanks for reminding me about the new chapter! Idk if I have anything interesting to say about it, it was kind of... not very good imo lol. There was an attempt at some heavy emotional stuff but it just didn't land for me, and of course Miura was great at action scenes so these feel very lacklustre in comparison 💔
I kinda laughed when Silat got upset that Guts was suicidal lol, like how do you even know he's suicidal? He's chained to the wall, what was he supposed to do to defend himself anyway? Why do you care?
Theoretically though I do like that Guts is currently suicidal, it's potentially interesting as a change from his usual pseudo-suicidal tendencies where he'll throw himself into mortal danger but then fight his way out, a la the wolves when he was eleven. This feels more like when he let Casca or the zombie kid stab him, though rather than being because of guilt it's because he feels worthless.
The whole sword thing is still really melodramatic and awkward lol but maybe it'll go somewhere interesting?
Idk, based on the vibes of the manga lately I'm starting to genuinely feel like Guts is gonna recover after someone gives him a pep talk and join the coalition against Griffith yadda yadda yadda and I might just stay bored forever. But hey, maybe he'll take his suicidal ideation all the way to Griffith and let Griff kill him? Or fail to attack and force a non violent confrontation because Griff won't kill him?
Or maybe Silat cares because he wants to use Guts against Griffith and I'll still get someone manipulating/magicking Guts into losing himself to the armour and going full Beast mode.
Idk, there's not much new to speculate on really. Oh, also it's tragic if Raksas really is dead now, very anti climatic. Gonna hope he keeps coming back at inopportune moments now lol.
