Coda has a sense that this is all temporary, that MC could disappear again at any moment. He wants to be closer but that idea terrifies him.
Once he’s assured of your relationship and he finds his purpose, he’ll tone down some. But he’ll still be a clingy koala. 😉

Thinking about how fire mcs will look like in the eyes of the rebels, having the ability to heal/speed up the process of healing but choosing not to. I think in their place I’d be at least mildly annoyed with fire MCs? Like: “They didn’t even heal their own mother, all to keep the secret that they were going to reveal anyway?” I can’t even begin to imagine the crashout, and can’t wait to see how it goes for mc! And yes I think the cat was out of the bag when mc felt that the ships were coming and pointed them out to Corinne, not getting out of this one.
To be fair, MC couldn’t have healed Thaleia/Jonah even if they tried. But you’re right, there is a little fear of judgement holding MC back from telling the truth.
Corinne did note that, yep! There was an even bigger slip-up that MC made that I’ve only had a couple readers take note of. Corinne noted it, and it will come up in chapter 5 if on her route. 🤭

Tellus and MC fighting together and being so in synch during the fortress battle was awesome. Best friends forever, no matter what. Or how long it's been. One for melee one for long range. I did the meditation before the battle, in part because it is too helpful to pass up on, but also, because my MC is terrified to tell the truth, but not above dropping more and more obvious hints along the way. And then I was awed by the way the others joined in. Especially Tellus, because it seemed like he has not done this in a very very long while, but it wasn't something he forgot either. The resonance was there and I hope he can feel that on the friendship paths, so we don't get to help him with the Cordis estrangement only if we romance him, even if to different degrees. Vicente being the quietest whisper, but still present was a bit heartbreaking once I thought about the implications there, but I love the fact that the non Irredicci all get included in this burgeoning makeshift accord. It also puts MC at the center of it in a way that does not feel too forced by protagonist syndrome and reinforces their assurances to Tellus without having to actually spell things out. Very neat! And Bayram. Oh Bayram. Why is it that every time we talk to him we learn something quite heartbreaking about him in the subtext? No wonder he and Coda get on, they both love their people so much, but feel excluded and like they can't quite claim them/settle among them, because of a disability alienating them to some core culture concepts. Don't worry big boy, you're already adopted here. And like Corinne he seems more focused on the group while ignoring his own needs more often than not. If I'm not mistaken he's got two moms to Corinne's two dads, the disobedient prince thing in common with Vic and the love for building and tinkering with Calliope. Just a little something connection that makes him able to connect to the people around him and the empathy and charisma to do it consciously. He's also definitely totally suspicious after he and my MC went to take out that Ballista and the guy there, but graciously didn't say anything. My MC is increasingly not subtle anymore. Half the Resistenza are pretty sharp people and they've definitely been clocked a couple times at least by now. I just love this game and I will try another playthrough. Hopefully Vicente won't flirt with that one? I want to go for Corinne. And Bayram. And Coda. (And I love Calli, but she's too little sis coded for me to romance. I looooooved writing Corinne and Bayram this chapter. All my ROs have a bit of trauma 😭 and Bayram is no exception. His is much less dramatic, but there are still issues in his past he had to work through. Bayram purposely presents himself as a flirtatious, irreverent himbo, but once you start getting to know him you realize there’s more going on, and I’m so happy that came across to you! I love the similarities to Tellus that you pointed out! 🤗

As a Calliope-mancer I kind of really liked her avoiding us for the chapter, not because I want less Calliope obviously, but it's just really fun imagining how the MC deals with it - especially after all the "I want to kiss you" stuff. I can only imagine my MC being a mix of confused, insecure, and desperate to see her again, in a way that makes the ending really satisfying. Although, I do like to imagine its the kind of thing that turns my MC into a grumpy cat, they won't drag Calliope out of her workshop, but if she's in there too long they will pointedly sit nearby for attention.
