OP Academy has Doflamingo and Monet's dynamic on the mind lately, and I started comparing and contrasting it to Luffy and Robin's, and generally how they view their respective crews.

Both Monet and Robin are willing to die for the sake of the well being and future success of their respective captains, and in both cases, there is a "destroy the island" button. The Buster Call at Enies Lobby, and the lab self-destruct button at Punk Hazard.

Though the ways that Doffy/Monet and Luffy/Robin interact with those elements is where the differences really show. Monet was ready and willing to destroy the lab and everyone in it, while Robin did everything she could to stop the Buster Call from being activated.

And in regards to Doffy & Luffy, one asked their crew member to die for him but not what she wants for herself, while the other asked her to be true to herself, and say that she does wish to live.

I'm glad that Monet is doing alright in Academy, and is acquainted with Robin. Hopefully she is offered the choice she never got in the main manga.
