Hope everyone’s having a good Thanksgiving, whether you’re spending time with family, taking time for yourself, or working. I just got back from going out with my mom to eat Thanksgiving dinner at Cracker Barrel. Even before my dad died that became our tradition, simply because it’s easier to go out than to cook for just 3 people.
It’s been a crazy week. Saturday I went to my mom’s last fundraiser banquet, then literally on her first day of retirement I had to take her up to the ER. Fortunately it was just a bad case of strep. I kid you not, though, it’s become a sad tradition that this time every year I end up making a night run to the ER with her. Last year was for vertigo, & the year before that she broke her toe trying to jump over a tiny little mouse. I almost thought we’d broken the curse. And since I had to take care of her, & it was three in the morning when we got home, I had to call in from work on the one day this week I was scheduled to work. But I guess in the grand scheme of things, there could certainly be worse things to go to the ER for.
On a more relevant note to you guys, I finished the next chapter. I’ve still got to edit & proofread, so I can’t say if I’ll have it up this weekend or not. But it’s a whopping 32 pages, so you’ll have plenty to read when it’s done. I know everyone’s been excited to see what happens during this arc, & now that things are picking up in the story I think it’ll be a fun ride.
Enjoy your holiday-- & crying out loud don’t go shopping tomorrow!
