After a very lengthy hiatus, I finally uploaded the next chapter of “The Night Before the Future” -- my Free!/Gargoyles AU fic.! :3

Fandom: Free! (Gargoyles AU) Rating: Teen (violence/language) Completed: 9 out of 11 chapters; 10 and 11 will be up this month!

I hate that it's come to this, but I feel that editing the chapter pages might be the only way to discourage reblogs, etc. of chapter uploads. If this doesn't work, I might seriously never post future chapters....

Why don't you want people reblogging the chapter?

Because I only post them on my blog so that people who can’t buy a copy *right away* can read the licensed English translation instead of relying on fan translations.

There’s this pesky thing called “copyright infringement”. And *reblogging* these posts would be tantamount to stealing a copy of the publication. Same thing if anyone saved each page to post it elsewhere. Me merely posting what I have *already purchased* is questionable, at best. That’s why I say these uploads are for review purposes only; even *this* is no guarantee that I’m safe from legal action….

I’m taking a risk by even letting you *read* it here.

Honestly I haven't seen a single person thank you for posting what you bought so. Thank you so much for sharing the chapter with us- your blog was the only place I could find it and I really appreciate it.

I will, but I intend on first making the pages… less desirable… to those who would wish to reblog or repost 😉

I wasn’t waiting for anything. I explained before that I was editing the pages to discourage reblogs.

Why did yen press contact you?

Ah, you must not have been following my blog about this time last month. 😆

Well, long story short: for several months I had been posting the chapters in English, with the requirement that people not reblog or repost them from me, but every month someone would do it anyway. So, I recently started making the posts un-rebloggable with another post just linking to them. Sometime last month (I’m guessing it was then), a staff member on the Black Butler project from Yen Press started following my blog... and soon-after noticed the upload for ch135, so they had Tumblr delete all posts for that upload. One thing led to another, and I ended up in a conversation with a second person at Yen Press (while a third Yen Press person commented on a call-out post [I made before I knew it was someone from Yen Press], which I’ve since deleted), and I agreed to not upload chapters anymore. I also *offered* to go back through my tagging system to delete previous chapter uploads… and I did that, too.
