Rambling about Fairies - Manga Chapter 130

Look at the amount of detail on this guy, what the hell. 

I’ve always wondered on the emphasis on Cobra so early on. The reveal that he’s a dragon slayer isn’t really enough, especially since we got Wendy as well and Laxus in the last arc. I guess it’s to set him up as Natsu’s opponent, but he’s quickly overshadowed by Zero the true big boss, and then the whole Jellal plot kept out minds occupied, so... 

I wish Cobra got more relevance in this arc. The story set him up so well (him being the only one to realize Erza’s also from TOH, him being the one Brain actively treats like a second in command instead of the perpetually sleeping Midnight, him following Jellal to find Nirvana, etc) but ultimately he ended up being just a guy with some interesting magic and a sad betrayal plot.

Oda’s comedic timing continues to be excellent. The tears dripping off of Sanji’s arm are a nice touch that stand out on a featureless background
