Clocked out the final chapter/epilogue at 7,800 words. Tomorrow and Friday morning will be edits, and Friday afternoon it will be posted.

Eek! So this next chapter is another monster. It’s now finished, with a total word-count of 13,100. But it definitely needs a good edit, or two or three or four, so it won’t be up yet. Sometime this coming week, though, for sure.  Just a quick update :) I hope you are all doing well with everything that’s going on around the world right now. Much love to you all <3

I feel like this next chapter is a very suitable place for a time jump (not a big one, of course, hello, it’s me), but dang - am I struggling with it. Everything in me is like, ‘you need to write everything from the moment the last chapter ended, and including all the ground and time you want to cover in this one’. But of course we would be here for the rest of our lives if that were the case, so no. Plus, I just know it’s not the right move. Again, there will be no great time jump, but since I don’t usually do much of any time jumps at all, I’m just like, ‘how do you do this’, lol. 

So the next chapter is on its way, but it’s definitely a difficult one to sort out. Just like, how do you make everything seem natural and at a good pace, and all that. Maybe I’m over-concerning myself with it, who knows. But the mere organisation of it is such... a... struggle... gah.

Anywho, I just wanted to let you guys know I’m still kickin’ around, and that the last chapter is definitely being worked on. I’m about 2,000+ words in, but basically I’m just throwing everything onto the page, and it’ll all likely get sorted and fixed and thrown around some more later on. 

You guys have been all so amazing to stick with me for so long. I often go back and read previous chapters, just to see if it still reads the same as when I first wrote it and to get myself into the right headspace before writing the next chapter. I wish so, so much that I could go back and re-write so many of those chapters, or those scenes, or those dialogues or what have you. I find so many places that are in such desperate need of repair, and all I can do is be humbled and amazed that you guys still enjoy the story, despite the plot holes, repeated words that I repeatedly repeat one after the other, or sentences that carry on and on with words that are added which aren’t really needed, and the amount of commas I use, yikes, that was something my professors always pointed out, too, and those dashes, goodness, and, just -

Sorry for the radio silence, but here I am! Just a quick update to let you know I am 2,000 words into the next chapter, that the outline for the chapter is all written out, though I’m not sure yet when it will be done or posted. Hopefully for sure in the next week or two. I don’t want to rush it, and I also want to enjoy it. I want to get all of Peter’s mismatched and turbulent feelings out, as unsorted as they may be. I’m sort of letting my fingers type away at this one, so there may be some long musings and streams of consciousness, because not even Peter knows what he wants at this point. He just wants to hide, but of course this time he’s not quite as alone as he was before, whether he likes that or not :)  But at the moment (where I am in the chapter, anyway) he be a’wanderin’.  Thanks again as always for everyone’s interest <3  I can barely believe sometimes that we’re almost at the end!

ALL RIGHT. So remember how editing usually means getting RID of unnecessary exposition and ramblings and words and phrases that you realise that are just plain dumb, and why the heck did you ever write it in the first place? Remember how all of that is supposed to DECREASE the word count? Well I DID do all that, I swear I did! I’ve never edited a chapter so much as I have this one. But still - STILL - we somehow increase nearly 900 words, and almost reach 14,000. EGADS!

Technically this is a perfect length to cut in half, but I feel it just all goes better if it stays as one. Plus, with everything going on in the world right now, it might be a useful distraction. I hope this chapter is okay - I’m still not sure if I’m perfectly satisfied with it, or if it will satisfy the reader at all. It’s actually quite difficult, it turns out, to wrap up a 250,000+ story. There are most likely many things I missed, and I probably have tried to squeeze in too much. But we shall see. I’ll update the next chapter tomorrow (March 27th) in the afternoon, and of course I’ll post on here when I do. Thanks for reading my insane ramblings.
