"I'm not gonna take it back." // "I was scared..." // "I've never felt this way before."
"I’m not gonna take it back."
"Fine. Whatever," Noah pouted, slouching back on the couch as she dropped the Xbox controller in her lap, letting out a huff. "I swear, Jackson, I’ll make you eat those words next time we play. Now that I’ve got the hang of it, I’m definitely gonna kick your ass, and then you’ll really wanna take it back. No one calls me a loser without getting proved wrong," she challenged, shooting him a small smirk.
"I was scared…"
"Scared of what?" Bryson murmured quietly, the phone pressed up to his ear as he dug through his mini-fridge in his dorm, pulling out a coke. "Audrey, I’m fine.. I’ve just been really busy," he sighed a bit, closing his eyes and rubbing his forehead. Between studying, going to classes, attending parties, and doing anything else you’d expect from a college kid, Bryson simply didn’t have a lot of spare time to talk to Audrey. In a way, he felt guilty, but he also knew it wasn’t his fault. Right? "Anyway, I can try to skype you tomorrow, if you want."
"I’ve never felt this way before."
Despite himself, a crooked grin made it’s way onto Mason’s face as he pulled Rhiannon in closer to his side. “I don’t think I have either, really,” he shrugged, looking up at the ceiling. “I mean, it’s nice with Amanda. It’s not a bad relationship,” he nodded, turning his head to look over at her. “But it’s different with you, though. You make me feel different than she does.” It wasn’t very often that Mason was open with Rhiannon about how he feels about her, especially with their given circumstances, but at that moment — he didn’t care. “I just don’t want to fuck this up. That’s why things are they way they are.”

JOAH —
In all honesty, she knew it was going to happen eventually. She’d grown used to being put off to the side so that Jackson could go on dates with his fake girlfriend. She became okay with the fact that he spent most of his time with the other girl, or that she would see his face pop up on magazines with the dumb blonde dangling from his arm — it was just the way things were. So, of course, deep down Noah knew it was bound to happen when she walked in on Jackson and whats-her-face in the middle of what looked like a pretty heated makeout session in his bedroom. And as far as she could tell, there were definitely no cameras around. It was simply the two of them, minus herself, who was currently frozen in the doorway. She had originally come to tell him the good news that she had finally been accepted to the college she wanted, but now, the acceptance letter was forgotten and crumbled in her hands by the amount of anger she felt. The redhead tried to ignore the tightness in her throat and the burning of tears in her eyes as she stared at the couple, now broken apart as if lit on fire. With Jackson’s frenzied apologies and pleas for an explanation muffled in her ears, the girl merely shook her head and silently walked out of the room, letting the door shut behind her.
RASON —
"Dude — isn’t that your girlfriend?" Mason heard the words fall from his best friend’s mouth, his eyebrows furrowed as he looked up from his phone. It was still strange, hearing the word ‘girlfriend’ in reference to Rhiannon. They’d only made things official a few weeks before, and despite the hesitation of him dumping Amanda for her, they were both pretty happy. And after a fight from earlier that morning, they’d decided to go out to a party for the night to relieve some stress. However, Mason felt his stomach drop as he let his eyes move to where his friend was looking. He saw Rhiannon in the corner of the other room, her face slightly hidden by the person she was currently kissing. Seeing nothing but red, Mason stood up from his seat and stormed toward them, ignoring his best friend’s shouts for him to stop. How could she kiss someone else while he was literally a room away? As he approached Rhiannon and the random guy, Mason didn’t hesitate to pull the guy off of her angrily. He gave the brunette a look of pure betrayal and hurt, her eyes looking back at him guiltily and ashamed, more than likely at herself. "What the hell is wrong with you?" He asked her quietly, before turning away from her and heading towards the door. Fuck the party.
White House parties were always very busy, crowded, and quite frankly — pretty boring. And as Head of Security’s daughter and the President’s only son, Noah and Jackson were always forced to attend such gatherings. However, of course they always found ways to sneak away and instead spend some time alone. The thrill of possibly being caught together always managed to make the experience much more exciting, especially with Jackson’s ongoing “relationship” with one of the Congressmen’s daughters. Currently, the two stood outside in the backyard near the garden, hid away from anyone watching by shaded trees and the night sky. Noah’s head rested in the crook of Jackson’s neck as they slowly swayed back and forth to the muffled music coming from indoors. No words were exchanged between them, instead just innocent touches of hands as they quietly shifted from foot to foot. “You know,” Noah murmured, lifting her head up to meet his eyes. “Sometimes I really do hate having to live here — constantly hiding from people I don’t want to see, being forced to attend stuff like this, not really having a normal life..” she paused, taking a moment to smile softly at him. “But then I get to spend time with you like this and it reminds me why I’m really thankful to be here.”
♧: Your muse playing with their hair.
"Shhh. I think I’m getting the hang of it." Bryson laughed quietly as his fingers continued running through Audrey’s hair, his eyebrows furrowed in concentration. His cabin full of kids were currently down by the lake along with her own, so naturally, they decided to spend the afternoon doing nothing together. After napping for a bit, with of course some making out in between, the two now found themselves with Audrey’s head in his lap as he attempted to figure out how the hell to braid hair. "Okay.. So you just take three pieces.." Bryson murmured to himself, taking a section of hair and trying to braid it, which only ended up twisting the hair in some weird way. Huffing slightly, Bryson dropped the three pieces and pouted in disappointment. "I give up. I don’t know how in the world you girls do this stuff," the boy chuckled and glanced down at Audrey’s face — only to see that she had fallen asleep on the spot. The sight made Bryson grin to himself, leaning back against the wall behind his bunk as he instead ran his fingers gently through her hair, completely content with life at the moment.
♘: Cuddling in a blanket fort
"Okay — I legit think this was my best idea yet." Biting his lip, Mason watched as Rhiannon adjusted the last blanket that would complete their blanket fort. You could definitely say that they had gotten a little bored, but hey, who wouldn’t wanna chill in a blanker fort? Those were Mason’s exact words when he had suggested it, earning a laugh and a nod of agreement from Rhiannon. Mason’s playful and childish attitude that came out when they were alone never failed to end up with some pretty interesting ways to cure boredom. And this was simply one example of it. "Alright, come on," the blond chuckled, reaching out for Rhi’s arm and pulling her down to where he was. He wrapped his arms around her and sighed quietly, relaxing against the mass amount of pillows they had stacked. "You bet your ass I’m never taking this thing down. Or letting you go home, for that matter," he teased.
