Petey: Why won’t you just let us help you? Aren’t you tired of living like this?

Cherrie: Of course I am, Petey. You think I ever wanted to live as a stray? No. I never asked to be born on the streets. I never asked for this live but it’s the life I have lived for my whole life. And I can’t risk everything. Not when I am so close to getting out of it.

Petey: But you aren’t! Cherrie, you just aren’t. The odds are stacked against you, and they always have been! Your way out isn't going to come from scrimping and scrapping by, and you've been doing that for too long anyway. Please, just come and stay with us. Dog Man's house and spacious and you'll be able to have your privacy. Hell, we could give you a whole section of the house if you want! Just... please don't go back to that raggedy old house.

Cherrie: I... I can't, Petey. I just can't. I'm so close, I know I am! I just need a little more time.

Petey: Cherrie, listen to yourself! How many times have you told yourself that over the years? How many times have you been "so close?" You're lying to yourself, and I can't stand by and let you do that to yourself anymore! Not when you have a real chance out with me, Dog Man, and Li'l Petey.

Cherrie: And then what happens? Huh, what happens after I'm with you guys? What happens when I'm all settled and comfortable?

Petey: Then you just stay and figure out how you want to live your life.

Cherrie: It's not that simple, Petey.

Petey: It can be if you just let it be.

Cherrie: I WON'T BE A CHARITY CASE!

Petey: ...what?

Cherrie: I refuse to be a burden or some obligation! I am not a means to an end, some box to check off, or a piece of eye candy to hang off your arm! I will not be tricked into false sense of security just so you can throw me out when I'm no longer of use to you! I have survived on my own for this long and I will continue to do so until I can get out and find the place where I belong!

Petey: ...I used to think everyone was like that too, Cherrie. But it's not true. Cherrie, we want to help you because we care about you. And you can stay for as long as you want, even after you get settled on your feet. Stay forever if you want! If you find somewhere else, then we are more than happy to help you get there. You're right. You aren't just an object that others can use, and you shouldn't be seen as such. And please believe me when I say that we don't see you as that in the slightest. Li'l Petey sees you like an aunt! You're Dog Man's new best friend and I... You... You're practically like a sister to me. So, please, come stay with us. Please, Cherrie.

Cherrie: ...I'm scared, Petey.

Petey: And that's okay! It's okay to be scared. Believe me, I was scared too when I was learning to be a do gooder. Hell, I'm still a little scared I'll fall off the path back into villainy, but I don't let it hold me back from living the life I have now. So, please don't let it hold you back from living the life you deserve to have.

Cherrie: ...okay. Okay, I'll come stay with you guys. Don't make me regret it.

Petey: You won't, Cherrie. You won't.
