sure there's the angst potential in superbat where clark out lives bruce. but instead give me superwonderbat where only two of the three live longer lives than the regular human, so the two remaining members of the relationship give together and have to figure out their new dynamic once bruce is gone.
give me that, the angst, the brilliance
just give me clark and diana standing, staring at a person they've loved for years and not know what to do now that the man they both loved is gone, them not understanding how they could ever more forward without bruce
Here's some more additions to the trauma list!

the reasons we give characters beautiful wonderfully entwined sort of repressive cultures is so we can truly rip them away from it and see how they flounder and see how everyone around them flounders. make that character feel abandoned by their god! make that character engage excessively with cultural tradition to feel whole qnd not quite getting there! let them have relatives who come to see them and flinch away at how they are now (traumatised and guilt ridden)! let everyone outside of that culture feel a real sense of concern and wondering exactly when it becomes religious psychosis!
it's been my personal tradition to sing the lullaby version of 'Carry On My Wayward Son' after any episode where a loved character dies. Normally just once, and then I move on.
I was singing for Kevin for almost 10 minuets last night.
