Hadrian would definitely notice at a point, he is a Guide so he has to be pretty damn smart. He would assume you are being humorous over serious though, and use that to hide all the icky...feelings underneath.

What do the characters look like? Thanks!!

Here we go:

Hadrian Bowes: Dark hair, with similarly dark eyes. He’s quite pale despite his exposure to the surface, and his hair is shaggy and slightly curled. It would look disheveled in a hot way, if it wasn’t for the fact that he straight up barely combs it. He’s 5’7, and has an average frame. More top heavy. His clothing choice is just as erratic, it’s a dark wardrobe with little care.

Mary Witherspoon: She’s very English in appearance. Light hair and light grey/green eyes. She’s tall! 6’1, and her build is willowy. Slight all around except for her height. She likes to wear masculine clothing, it contradicts with her perceived softness. Her hair is long, and only has a slight wave. She keeps in two dutch braids that she wears as a crown when in action. 

Agustin Soarez: His hair is a burnt orange color, and he’s quite tan. He’s striking, being a redhead that isn’t pale in the slightest. He’s 5’10, and his eyes are brown. His build is slighter. He likes his clothes neatly tailored, mostly done by his grandmother. His hair is cropped close to his head. Severe. His brow is furrowed quite often.

Governor Farrah: Slicked back black hair, a strong Roman nose and high cheekbones. His eyes are a honeyed light brown. His lips are always somewhat pouted. His fashion taste is loose and flowing, made from high quality fabrics with little decoration despite his status. Breezy flowing. 6’5, and has a sturdy build.

Diane: Pale. Very pale. It’s common for lower layer folks to look positively corpse like due to lack of sun, which is common for the lower levels. But it isn’t paleness due to actually being light in skin tone, just a sickly grayish pallor. If they were healthy, and had access to sun, a nice dark brown shade. Murky brown eyes and hair just as ambiguous. Short and gaunty, a very high Roman nose.

Maya De LaCruz: She’s 5′4 and has short bluntly cut black hair. She wears glasses, simple brown frames that took forever to come by. She’s actually missing one front tooth, and wears dentures for it, as image is important for her-- being on a council. She’s solidly built, with a round face with angular black eyes and lips that are constantly in a small frown.

May I ask what are the RO/s love languages?

Hadrian has to be Acts of Service, he's actually kinda course language-wise and shows affection by just doing things, not really needing to be asked. He's very quick at telling things.

Agustin Soarez is Quality Time, for sure. He believes the epitome of liking someone is the ability to sit in silence and not have it be weird. He likes just being quiet and very ''in the moment.''

Mary is a nice balance between Quality Time and Words of Affirmation. It's why she and Agustin were paired together. They just made sense.

Gov. Farrah is Words of Affirmation and Receiving Gifts.

Diane believes they don't have one. Love doesn't have a language that can be easily understood yadda yadda.

Maya De LaCruz is a big fan of Physical Touch. She'll always go for a hand, a hug, a back rub, etc. Anything.

Characters MBTI types? Also this looks so good and I love the basis of the plot!!!

omg! first inbox! thanks for loving the plot, thanks for the support. it does mean a lot!! MBTIs have been super helpful with laying out character motivations and all that. gave me a great brainstorm.

The Characters and their MBTIs:

Hadrian Bowes:

MBTI - ESTP, which makes him a great guide. He’s flexible, and present. The worse part of being a guide is seeing you do what he couldn’t. Hadrian Bowes wasn’t dedicated enough to be fully wiped of the minds of those he loves most, his family and friends. But he still has you.

Mary Witherspoon:

MBTI- INFP, which means of course she’d be the Mailman to make herself the most personable. To speak up the most. To hold sway in the chambers of the Convent. Most Mailmen are still very wary, but if anyone could convince anyone.

Agustin Soarez:

MBTI- ESTJ, his assertiveness is actually quite normal for a guide, which can act as the mouth for a Mailman. Fully backing Mary’s cause of Mailman participation in the spread of information, of more humane standards of qualification, of possibly going back to the surface, and giving guides for on-the-job freedom, if Mary is an Idealist, Agustin is that made practical.

Diane:

MBTI- INFJ, hidden. Low key in every sense. Leading an anti-government labor force isn’t easy, isn’t something you can brag about. Their passion for people and problem solving is something to note. They can cast a cold eye though.

Governor Farrah:

MBTI- ESFP, most ranking members tend to have a thing for the dramatic, this is true. But Governor Farrah, only holding the mantle because his father had the mantle, has little patience for the trivialities of ruling a colony, especially not one on so barren a place as the Arago rings.

Maya De LaCruz:

MBTI- ENFJ, she’s a beloved member of the LBA, and a beloved person. She has become the example of what it means to be from the lower layers, compassionate, and extremely in-tune with people.
