Colour Project & Dot & Character Reflection
This project was overall a great success.
For the elements, it was a great opportunity to test out my character model for my two minute film fighting against a likely element he'd face -- heavy rain. Using the environment was an important part of this so animating him jumping over the wall helped me learn a lot in how to put an animation over an existing background. I would like to finish this and polish it up and add rain particles and puddle splashes to really capture the feeling of the rain.
The dot project was surprisingly challening because the shapes were so limited and found it difficult to keep the ball consistent while it moves as well as match the beginning frame. However, I think it turned out reasonably okay as in my feedback in the crit people managed to identify the feeling as joy/excitement.
For the colour project, I think that the team I had, Sena and Andreea, were amazingly organised and we worked together to create a good film for the time that we had. The backgrounds turned out amazing and Andreea's style was fun to replicate and having the basis for that style helped in making them look similar. The colour palette was challenging to use but by mixing the colours to create ones inbetween gave more freedom and ease of use. By using the green and the brown effectively I think we captured what the palette was about, as well as using the Flesh tone for the camera man inbetween and for various creatures. One scene I would like to help finish is the underwater scene by adding splooshing sound effects when the camera is dropped, as well as refining the camera movement using a technique in premiere that makes it look much more natural.
I'm excited to some day finish this project as the team I had was a joy.
