So, I know I’m coming in hot with this, but hear me out. Shipping is a mess, and the fandom policing around it is even messier. Some people censor names or act like your favorite ships don’t deserve to exist (breaks your heart when they say "respectfully" after breaking up what you love Abt the ship), while they themselves ship weirder or less-plausible things. Take examples like Chaggie, Radioapple, Radiostatic, Charlastor, Lucilith, Charcifier (deep regrets for mentioning this) — some of these are canon-adjacent, some are straight-up incest, some people hate them, some people love them. That’s fine. Shipping is about fun, character dynamics, and exploring what could happen, not about declaring your ship the only valid one.
Now, let’s use Radioapple as an example. Lucifer has been grieving Lilith for almost 8 years, still wearing his ring, which shows he hasn’t healed. That doesn’t mean he can’t start feeling something new, especially toward someone chaotic, terrifying, and ego-filled like Alastor. And yes, Alastor is asexual and ego-big-as-hell, but that doesn’t make romance impossible — his curiosity and amusement could totally align with Lucifer’s fun-sized short-king energy. It’s not polyamory, it’s layered love: he can still care about Lilith while exploring a new connections since he has stayed alone in his Palace for far too long and my boi deserves atleast one healthy relationship. Add the wings, height difference, emotional chaos, power dynamics, and yes, memes galore, and it actually works in a dramatic, hilarious, and plausible way.
The point is, some fans policing ships while shipping stranger stuff themselves? Peak fandom energy tbh. Ships like Radioapple aren’t just “fun”; they can explore character growth, drama, and tension while staying true to what makes the characters compelling.
I hope y'all don't come after me after this, I already have trauma 😭
