We are also very very very willing to share facts about this AU's history, the magical system, monster biology, human biology, hybrid biology, etc!

Chara and Frisk both use they/them in this AU. Napstablook uses they/them. MK uses both they/them and he/him. Mad Mew Mew (Maddie) uses she/her.

Do not deadname Mettaton or Maddie.

Also, in this AU, Flowey and Asriel are headmates, not the same person. They have shared memories (and a shared body/soul), but they are separate boys with their own thoughts and feelings.

Does anyone else ship polyamorous ships purely because they hate cheating and love triangle tropes? It’s so annoying to me when fic writers incorporate that in.

I saw a fic where Kaede cheated on Shuichi with Miu, and Shuichi got together with Kiibo, and that’s how I started shipping all four of them together. Polyamory and spite fixes everything and I will die standing by that.

If you ship Charisk or Friskriel or Chasriel but you don’t ship all three of them together what are you even doing

I am beginning to realize that the Chara I write for any Chariskriel stuff and the Chara I write for any Flowiskra stuff are very much 2 different Charas. In personality/mannerisms etc, not appearance-- @channydraws style for them has been canon for me ever since I first saw them tbqfh <3 (also see Frisk, Flowey, Azzy, i can’t help it Channy’s style is perfection)

anyway yeah idk, Flowiskra!Chara is closer to the admittedly minimal canon characterization of them, and Chariskriel!Chara is... as close as I can get to “my” version of Chara, who I still haven’t completely figured out yet and probably is just a mishmash of a billion other HCs I’ve picked up. They’re... sillier? more relaxed? idefk-- to Flowiskra!Chara, and much more overt (and sometimes, like, hyper) about bein a lil shit~ Flowiskra Chara thinks they’re much more suave about bein a lil shit lmao-- sometimes they actually are and sometimes they’re not :B

also, on the incredibly rare occasions Chara shows up outside of/not focused on those ships they’re usually Chariskriel!Chara anyway.

AU/Blog intro!

This is the home for our Undertale horror series, Drought & Devastation (aka Droughtale or DD)! It is an AU of Defining Happiness (which you can learn more about over @dhundertale).

(It includes alphyne, sansby, charisk, implied friskriel / chasriel / flowiskra / friskid, implied soriel, one-sided asgoriel, and one-sided papyton. If the ships bother you, this AU may not be for you.)

This story will have multiple branching chapters, all following different paths Celest may take. Pacifist, Genocide, or one of many neutral routes. Which route will bring her to a worthwhile ending...?

Brief description of the AU:

Frisk Meskur, after achieving the False Pacifist ending, left the Underground for good, in order to return to their little sister, Celest Meskur, who was left with their abusive parents. They simply wished to check on her, before LOADing their previous save and trying again...

...however, they found that their magical abilities were impossible to use if not in the vicinity of Monsters. Tragically, their parents kept them from returning, leaving Asgore dead, the six human souls lost, and Toriel queen.

15 years later...

Frisk passes away, an event long-coming since a tragic incident in their childhood. Their final request was for Celest – a now married woman, with a daughter – to take their soul and journey underground, saving those they abandoned all those years ago.

...but Celest finds herself not in the wonderland Frisk described, but in a place best described as purgatory…a place that now knows only of magical drought and despair…

What went so wrong in the years since Frisk’s fall…? 

Does Celest have any means of escape from this hell…? 

Without Frisk’s DETERMINATION to keep them alive, will Chara survive long enough to guide Celest all the way through…? 

Can Celest and Chara truly trust their newfound companions...?

Most importantly…is monsterkind still worth saving?
