His calm and yet dangerous facade was as refreshing as ever, it being a welcome change from the mundane and the restful, the terrified and the pathetic, that followed her wherever she went, brought upon by the unmistakable incandescence of her vaguely angelic deadliness. She had to admit that the lack of attention he gave her, the lack of care that he chose to adopt -- or more specifically, not adopt -- in the face of her nightshade grace was both faintly challenging and amusing; he was blatant in his dismissal, but oh, she knew she could break him given the opportunity and the room.
But a queen was humble, and she recognized that perhaps, today, tonight, it would not be as easily attainable a goal as the virile depths of her deceitful mind whispered to her. But tonight was not to play -- tonight was reserved for the careful set up of the game itself, the pawns in place, the queen controlling all from her side. One would not play with no pieces, after all.
"Teasing?" she said with a quiet giggle, sweet and innocent. "How cute, ne~"
One step closer, toeing the line between careful and careless. "Curiosity can be a powerful mistress, you'll find, Chrollo Lucifer. So powerful that it may coax one less in control to give in to their impulses. Don't you agree, ne~?" A tilt of her head. "I was...curious."
