My name is Ahmed. My wife Hadeel and I dreamed of a simple life together. We married in February 2023, and now Hadeel is pregnant, which makes our situation even more urgent. We had just settled into our cozy apartment in northern Gaza when everything changed on October 7, 2023, when war shattered our lives. We lost our home and my job, and after a series of evacuations, we ended up in a tent by the sea in Khan Younis.

Amid the devastation of Gaza, five children stood before a broken electric pole leaning on the ground. They decided to turn it into a balancing game, competing to walk across it without falling.

Their laughter echoed every time one of them wobbled or nearly fell, cheering each other on with enthusiasm. After playing, they sat beside the pole, dreaming of real amusement parks far away from the rubble.

Despite the dusty sky and the destruction surrounding them, they realized that their dreams and laughter were stronger than all they had lost.

On a cold night on Gaza's outskirts, rain seeped through my tattered tent, turning the ground to mud. Once my refuge after war destroyed my home, the tent offered no warmth or safety. UPDATE: Sinclair is NOT going to broadcast Jimmy Kimmel, even though ABC is resuming production.

Sinclair has demanded that Kimmel personally donate to Turning Point USA, a right-wing political organization.

David Smith, executive chairman of Sinclair, donated 250K to Turning Point USA last year.

The preemption means that 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' will remain unavailable for some of the U.S. despite its return after a nearly week-long susp

However, most ABC stations in the U.S. are owned by independent station groups, and Sinclair is the largest owner of ABC stations, with 38 across the country, including WJLA, the ABC affiliate that serves the Washington D.C. metro area.

It was pushback from Sinclair and Nexstar that sparked Disney’s decision to pull the show in the first place, with both station groups telling Disney that they would preempt the show in response to his comments last Monday night about Charlie Kirk’s killer. Sources say that other ABC affiliates had also expressed concerns.

Nexstar, it should be noted, has a $6 billion-plus deal pending before the FCC to acquire Tegna, an agreement that would make it by far the largest owner of local TV stations in the country. Sinclair has also expressed a desire to pursue M&A, which would also require FCC approval

Amir's body is trying to heal from a broken foot, bug bites, and multiple infections, but what little nutrients he has are stretched so thin that his immune system can't even prevent subsequent infections.

URGENT: Pregnant mother and her four children in Gaza are burned and without shelter (verified)

Samira (@samiraayman5, @samira-family) is a pregnant mother with four children -- she and her children were sleeping rough after being displaced from their home in North Gaza multiple times, and when she finally managed to raise enough money to buy a tent for them to sleep in, it was burned by the occupation in a bombing of Al-Aqsa Hospital where they were sheltering, and so were her children.

Now Samira and her family are once again without shelter as winter approaches and the temperature is dropping, and her children also need burn medicine, which is approximately $400 due to scarcity, an expense that is on top of the exorbitant cost of food, and the money required to get another tent, as they're currently having to sleep on the hard ground.

Samira is afraid she will give birth not in hospital, or even in a tent, but on the dirty ground: this is extremely dangerous not just because of how unhygienic it is, but because of the serious diseases that are rampant in the Gaza Strip - including Hepatitis C - and Samira's anaemia and asthma, conditions caused by the displacement and suffering of the past year.

At the time of writing (4th November 2024), Samira has raised $2,959 USD out of her current goal of $20,000 USD.

The $400 for the burn medicine is needed URGENTLY so her children can heal from their injuries and avoid infection, as is the money for a tent so Samira does not have to give birth on the ground without even a mattress or tarp - tents in Gaza are currently selling for hundreds of USD, so realistically Samira needs to raise at least $1000 USD as quickly as possible.

I have always had a passion for desserts. I used to cook them for my family almost everyday, and I cooked them with love. Every evening, my family would gather to share stories and smiles over my delicious creations. It was my own way to bring my family together.😍💗

Sadly, these days are long gone. Our home, which used to be our haven, was damaged. As a result, we were forced to leave to Southern Gaza in persuit of safety and survival. It turned out that there's no thing such a safe place in Gaza, as we still live in constant danger. Warplanes are hovering overhead day and night and explosions are heard from every direction.💔💔😔

There's also the danger of starving or dying due to the lack proper medical treatment, which is a real threat to the lives of chronically ill people, like my dad and grandma.😭😔

I really yearn to the days when my family was happily eating my homemade desserts, but sadly it seem like a distant memory now.🥺🥺

That's why we have made the difficult decision of leaving Gaza and starting over somewhere else. We want to restore our peaceful life without being constantly dangered by warplanes or bombing, without being forced to struggle to provide even the most basic necessities, such as water and food. We just want to be happy again. 😞😞
