TGWDLM Timeline

Ok lets begin discussing the way the timeline differs from the main one!!

The main thing is obviously Martin being there during the events, working at CCRP and thus being involved or in the background of the scenes with the CCRP crew

🎵 Inevitable (Only in the remount version of the show)

At the beginning Martin is working with Charlotte until she gets her phone call from Sam, at which point he quietly shuffles aside to be just out of her cubical.

Later that night he for the most part replaces Ted during their scene, although Ted is there and joins the scene to have his lines mostly the same. Martin understanding what Charlotte wanted as a response but Ted butting in with his confusion and misunderstanding.

During the following day Martin is running late and runs into Charlotte downtown, seeing the first few infected people before they both meet back up with Bill and Ted to go hide in the bins.

Once Paul rejoins the group and Show me your hands begins Martin wants to help but finds himself frozen in fear at the situation. So Ted still knocks Sam out and Charlotte still scares away the other cops with the gun, however instead of throwing the gun aside Charlotte hands it to Martin before going to see if Sam's alright.

Martin feels so awful about being unable to do anything and holds onto the gun, keeping it in his pocket.

The group proceeds to Hidgens' house as normal.

The scene with Hidgens goes as it normally does, Martin still feeling ashamed that he couldn't help goes with the main group to go drink.

Ted and Charlotte have their scene and argument, leaving Charlotte alone with Sam tied up. While the ending of Tied up your heart plays out Martin realizes Charlotte isn't with them, he goes to go back out to her but Hidgens stops him for a moment. Asking him if he'd want to hear about something else he'd been working on, Martin dismisses this and goes out to see he is already too late.

Charlotte has already been killed and in the process of being infected my Sam. He pulls out the gun from his pocket and shoots Sam as Charlotte stands back up again. Martin drops the weapon and allows her to kill and infect him, feeling as if he had failed yet again.

Martin and Charlotte rejoin the group to perform Join us (and die) and are both shot by Hidgens.

Thus ending their story.

(except in the remount/reprise version where they both come back to sing Inevitable)

Ok I think I have enough together to share my silly little self indulgent Hatchetfield au hehe

Firstly we have my self insert Martin Chambers, he's Zoeys estranged cousin (due to him being a bi transmasc, Memaw Chambers basically disowned him so he doesn't have a good relationship with most of his family) and works at CCRP in the tech department with the main gang. He works as Charlotte's assistant and has a crush on her but doesn't feel confident enough to act on those feelings, along with her being married and being unaware that she frequently cheats. Martin looks like this

He's 36 and lives a few doors down from Paul's apartment and tries to make small talk with him when they bump into eachother but both are a bit too awkward to say very much and don't share a ton of interests. Martin also has a pet rabbit who he loves dearly, he's named Cinnabun and here's a doodle of him. (also Sam and mini Martin cause i put them on the same canvas lol)

Martin is close friends with Bill and more mutual friends with Paul and Ted, sort of vaguely friends with Melissa as he loves rabbits which act similarly to cats so they've talked about them both together (Martin is not aware of her whole deal he just thinks she's a big fan of cats). Anyways his friendship with Bill leads into how Martin and Charlotte end up seeing eachother.

During the Bottle Imps storyline that hasn't been released in its entirety (sobs at my lack of a Charlotte focused Nightmare Time episode, maybe someday..) it was meant to be Bill using the power of the Bottle Imp he is given by Mr. Coven to help Charlotte with her bad luck with love. This is where Martin comes in, Bill uses the power of the Bottle Imp to bring them together !! (that part is a bit fuzzy on detail cause in canon we don't really have much on how the Bottle Imps work so just run with me here) Following that Charlotte and Martin begin seeing eachother. He doesn't mind the whole cheating thing and is ok with her seeing other people while seeing him, he just loves being with her in any way and that shes happy. Martin wishes she would leave Sam because he can see how upset he makes her frequently and in general does not treat her well.

Char still hangs with Ted some times but enjoys being with Martin a little bit more as he plays along with her bouts of melodrama while Ted just entirely misses what she's trying to do. (They are also both on a similar freak level which helps in both his case and Ted's. Martin would let her butt her cigarette on him I mean what who said that /lh)

Due to this Ted doesn't like Martin a whole lot following him and Charlotte getting together but its more annoyance rather than hatred or anything that extreme.

They go out to Beanies rarely as after the first time they went together Martin realised Zoey works there and so tries to avoid seeing her. The coffee and hot chocolate aren't that great there so both don't see it as a big loss. (also Charlotte gets a Coffee while Martin gets a Hot Chocolate)

They go out drinking together some nights when Sam has told her that he isn't going to be there that night, although sometimes they push their luck a little and still do it on nights where he's just going to be home late.

I have a little bit more for how he is during the events of TGWDLM (or atleast the og version as I haven't seen the reprise yet) and kind of the Always and Forever branch of the timeline but I'll stop there for now with my lil self insert au. (can you tell Charlotte is my favourite character? /lh)

(also funfact this was all born out of a sudden half awake hypomania type idea that i continued once i was awake again)
