I wanna shine a light on the unsung heroes of sci fi,the folks in monster suits ,so will be showcasing a few notable Movie and TV monsters and the performers who played them and some fun facts

Gort from Day the Earth Stood Still

And a Mutant in Invaders from Mars

Were both Played by Lock Martin .Fun fact was a doorman at the Graumans Chinese Theater

The Thing from Thing From Another World

Was played by James Arness,most famous for playing Marshall Matt Dillon for 20 years on Gunsmoker

The Martian from War of the Worlds

and the Alien from I Married a Monster from Outer Space

were Played by Charles Gemora,who also designed and made the costumes and whose initial career was playing Gorillas and apes from the 20's to the 40's

The Swimming Gill Man from Creature of the Black Lagoon trilogy

Played by Ricou Browning who was the last surviving Universal Monster and fun fact co created Flipper

Robbie the Robot from Forbidden Planet

Played by Frankie Darro who fun fact was the voice of Lampwicke in Disneys Pinocchio

Played by Ray "Crash" Corrigan,famous stunt man /Gorilla actor who also ran Corriganville Movie Ranch, a shooting location and tourist spot

The Gremlin from the Twilight Zone ,Nightmare at 20'000 Feet

Played by Nick Cravat,lifelong friend of Burt Lancaster ,starring in 9 films with him including The Island ofDr Moreau

Cyberman Controler from the Doctor Who serial Tomb of the Cybermen

Played by Michael Kilgarriff who also adapted the novel ,The Hobbitt into a radio series

Moon Watcher from 2001 a Space Odyssey

Played by mime Daniel Richter,a friend of John Lennons

Charles Gemora (Seven Footprints to Satan, The Unholy 3, Blonde Venus)—literally guy whos Thing in movies was being the guy in the gorilla suit. out of all his known film appearances (at least 60) only 9 credited him and at least 3 of those were by a different name. his performance as ethel the circus gorilla in the 1932 laurel & hardy short "the chimp" is the keystone of the entire piece, pure chaos but at the same time all sarcastic intent and wit. the scrungle is in the chaos here. he was the griller.

Katharine Hepburn (Sylvia Scarlett)— Look, I get that thee Katharine Hepburn might not be the first pick for scrungly little guy, but I deeply believe that she was a scrungly little guy trapped in the body of an astonishingly beautiful woman and that she was clearly having the most fun when she got to show her scrungly side.
